Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Began by a bad welcoming because of 2 employees on the telephone. 5 mn to wait they finish after a long trip.

20 mn to have a taxi to portaventura. Not so easy to go there after 11 am.

No wifi in the room. Dirty shower, safe box out of service. No solution the first day.

Second day, they are ok to go in another room "privilege" but smaller and we have to move all our clothes from the last room.

Little swimming pool. Spa not so good and forbidden if you don t wear a head cap !!!

Very unfriendly personnal they are all cold except one man in the welcome desk who understand what we want.

I forgot my diesel jean but they didn t find it...

Nothing to do around. Noise in the street. Breakfast is terrible. Even orange juice is not fresh.

This hotel don t diserve 4 star.

We stayed on this hotel for 3 nights before travelling down to our rented villa in Castellón. The hotel was 10m ride from the airport, we arrived tired late at night to be welcomed by a lovely and helpful receptionist who effectively checked us in. We were given 2 adjacent apartments on the 6th floor which were spacious and had a view of the Port Aventura theme park. The hotel is well situated in the village, with plenty of restaurants, bars and small shops near by. The restaurant offers a well priced menu but we opted to eat tapas at different typical local bars. The location is very Spanish but if you want somewhere more "English" Salou is only a few minutes away and the hotel offers free transport. There is a supermarket 3m away on foot to get some light things for breakfast and lunch (as the apartments have a small kitchen), but on a Saturday they don't open until late so wonder along the small narrow roads and find lots of small bakeries, butchers, grocers, etc.
The hotel was clean and spacious and the swimming pool area was fantastic, with a nice lawn area and plenty of sun loungers. There is a pool bar, probably under staff, but we are on holidays so no rush. They offer drinks and snacks at a very good value for a 4* hotel. Vermouth, crisps and olives for 3€ or so. The receptionist also gave us a complimentary voucher for a glass of cava (as we were 6, but 4 of them teenagers, my husband and I had 6 glasses- not all on the same day!).
The staff were very efficient but most important, very helpful and professional, looked for timetables, telephone numbers, taxis, etc for us.
Free minibus service to and from Port Aventura and decent Wifi.
I would definitely use this hotel again if I am in the area (or maybe just for a romantic 2 day scape next Spring) and would recommend to anyone. If I have to find something negative would say the beds were not too comfy and the extra bed is a sofa bed not a proper single bed, but not big deal, the hotel still offers great value for money. For 5€ less we stayed at the Tarraco Park for one night on our return and there was a huge difference!. Just a tip- if you travel to Reus airport, don't book transfer in advance, I paid 35€ but the local taxis only charge you about 25€.

Room Tip: Rooms 607 and 609 have a good view and are far away from lift so less people passing by.

My first impression reminds me of a British premier Inn, good beds, clean towels, air con, safe with the added bonus of indoor spa jacuzzi & outdoor pool.
Booked after visiting Salou many years ago. I was worried about the location in relation to Salou. We walked into Salou and this was a straight road 50 min walk. Taxi back just under €12 ( 10 min drive) all taxis use meters so no need to haggle. The hotel has a 8 seater bus free of charge to Salou every evening at 7pm.
The local area does not cater for the English it's a very spanish community. We did not know that local shops do not open Sunday's so it's either a local bar for food and drink's or go without. The hotel only sells Pizza at lunch time ( just Ham).
Breakfast buffet style stocked up often with lots of choice.
We did feel at first far away from everything but it turned out to be a very relaxing break, No claiming of sun beds or over crowding near the pool area ( at times we had it to ourselves) We hired bikes from the hotel & had a wonder up the traditional Spanish streets which was lovely. lots of cafe bars, restraunts nearby. Lidl and other supermarkets 3-5 min walk.
We would stay again -family of 4 , 2 adults & 2 boys 13,15.

I picked up what I thought was a bargain price for this hotel for a short 4 night break from July 15-19 with my partner and I was delighted with our stay. I read the reviews before going and did a bit of research into the area so I knew that the hotel has a lot of business clients at certain times of the year and is a 40 minute walk from the beach (but 10 minute taxi/bus ride) so the location did not bother me. We arrived at around 10pm and were greeted by the friendly receptionist in a large impressive foyer. We were on the 7th floor so used the lift, which is glass so you can see through it (not great for my partner, who is afraid of heights!) I already knew there weren't any balconies but the view from the large window was nice of the town. The room was spacious and clean, with free air conditioning and a free safe. The hotel also provides free wifi, which didn't pick up very well on the 7th floor (so maybe not great for business people to go on that floor) but did everywhere else in the hotel. We enjoyed looking around Villa Seca, where the hotel is situated but aside from a few little shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants (Spanish speaking) there isn't much to do, but that suited us fine, as we wanted to relax. The food was nice in the restaurants we went to and the drinks were very cheap, especially in the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was a fresh hot and cold buffet, with the same choices every day, but there was enough choices each day to have a different thing, eg bacon, sausages, cold meats, cheese, breads, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cake - what you would expect. The pool at the hotel was clean and there were enough sunbeds - we didn't need to fight for one. However it did get busier on the last day but we still got a sunbed with ease. The hotel was mainly couples and a few families at this time of year. There was a library and a pool table and the pool bar opened until about 11pm. There was also a computer with free-of-charge internet in the foyer. It was a quiet relaxing hotel so if you are looking for something lively then don't stay there, but we weren't. There is a spa in the hotel, with indoor pool, hot tub and treatments at good prices. We didn't use it but would if we had stayed longer. The hotel provides a free bus to Salou beach and La Pineda beach or Reus Shopping Village in the morning for any guests who want it and collects you on the way back. It also takes you into Salou/La Pineda in the evening at 7.15pm if you wish to go, but you have to make your own way back. A taxi back from Salou is 12 Euros and from La Pineda is 16 Euros. Both are worth a visit. The beaches of both are beautiful and clean, with clear waters. Salou is more lively with inflatables in the sea, pedalos etc. There is also a good shopping village at Salou for souvenirs -and clothes shops near the harbour side (we were told about this but didn't go there) Salou has lots of restaurants and bar, beach bars too, and was lively in the evening but not rowdy. La Pineda is a lot quieter but has lots of restaurants and souvenir shops. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but there is an option to have lunch and dinner, or you can buy pizza throughout the day. The drinks are brilliant value and the Prosecco - 1.50 euros a glass - was very popular. We got a taxi to and from the airport (10 minutes drive) for 25 Euros and it was so easy and quick. The staff at the hotel were really pleasant and helpful and printed off bus routes for us, gave advice, ordered taxis for us, gave us tips on where to eat etc. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels. I would definitely go back. If you don't mind staying in a quiet hotel, in a Spanish speaking area and doing a little journey in a bus/taxi/car to see other places, then this is the hotel for you. It is definitely a good base to explore, being between Salou and La Pineda.

Room Tip: I think if you ask for a room at the back of the hotel on one of the top floors you may be able to s...
