Stayed for one night last weekend.
It was a great experience. The staff couldn't have been more friendly even though they were after two days of wedding. The food was excellent. Looking forward to visiting again. The restaurant was a real treat especially for my grandchildren.

We could not have enjoyed our stay at the Celtic Ross more and although the room, the hotel and the facilities are fabulous, it was the STAFF and the FOOD that made our stay what it was. They have a new Head Chef that they must keep at all costs, the food was AMAZING and the buffet breakfast fantastic. What can we say about the staff, the young girl who had entered the Miss Cork Rose competition could not have done more for us, so happy and attentive and could not do enough for us, don't let her go! The Reception girls were amazing, everyone was so friendly and professional and efficient. It was clear that every single member of staff had our comfort and pleasure at heart, including the Manager we spoke to at the time, a lovely woman. The fabulous Polish man on the Bar who has such lovely stories was equally attentive. We enjoyed it so much we are returning with our Grandchildren in August. Ciera who has assisted us with this booking has been brilliant. We can't wait to visit again in a few weeks. We cannot recommend this hotel and it's staff highly enough. We are well travelled and know what we are talking about. We measure SERVICE on the American way, ie top class. Do not hesitate, you will be pleased you checked in.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the bay/water, otherwise it is overlooking the car park but do not let th...

Having read that the Celtic Ross had won Carvery of the year 2013 we were anxious to try it.However we left with the opinion that if this was the best, how bad were its competitors?
The restaurant was busy , with pleasant staff but the carvery was basic to say the least. 1 choice of starter, veg soup,5 main courses and 4 desserts. The beef looked dry so we plumped for the turkey and ham with veg .The ham was salty and sparse the turkey was moist, veg was well cooked. It was the desserts that were the most disapointing.Eton mess,a personal favourite, arrived in a wine glass, a minute piece of meringue swimming in a dollop of cream topped with ONE SMALL strawberry ... cost 5 euro!!!!!!!!!!My partner chose chocolate brownie which consisted of a paltry thin square of brownie, a scoop of ice cream and a splash of coulis.
Left deflated and disappointed,we wonder who judges these awards?,because we wouldn't be giving out any,......... maybe one for the meanest desserts in West Cork!

I stayed here last weekend and it remains as good as ever. I have been coming here for a good few years and it is my favourite hotel of all times in Ireland. The front line staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is very good but I prefer the bar food experience. It is in a perfect location to explore West Cork, with the stunning Glandore and Union Hall less than 10 kilometres away.
There are some dining experiences organised such as Faulty Towers night which was so hilarious.
Watch out for specials.

Room Tip: Book a room to the front of the hotel for a fab view.

We have been staying here almost every year since it opened because we like the location. The staff are very friendly and the rooms spacious and comfortable though sparse. The food is good too.

The gym equipment is very basic and worn out and although the pool is clean the changing rooms are tired and vandalized.

Noisy unruly kids were sometimes irritating but there is little for them to do.

Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and the package was good value and ideal for us.

Room Tip: Top floors are quieter

The location of the hotel is a great base for exploring West Cork and the views onto the estuary are fantastic. Unfortunatley the view from our hotel room was the function room roof and a graveyard.

The room we stayed in was basic, if a little tired, but we thought that €120 was a bit steep for the service, room and breakfast. Sleep quality however was good, although the breakfast was the wrong side of average - a greasy fry-up buffet and limited cold buffet, compared to other places we've stayed.

Had the pleasure of attending a family wedding here at the weekend. The staff were so friendly and obliging form the moment we arrived, every one of them seemed to love their job. The food was 5 star and the table service was so efficient with that west Cork friendly twist.
The location has to be seen to be believed,

Room Tip: Try to see the sunrise over the bay at the front of the hotel
