“Love this hotel.”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

We stay in Rosscarbery once a year. We always get down to the festival for a few nights. We love it it is a great place for family fun. Gorgeous views nice playground tennis court and basketball court near the hotel. Warren beach is amazing. The festival on in August is fab so much to do disco, sand Castle comp , pig racing and so much more!. Live music in the pubs each night. The hotel is great it is clean the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble my only fault is the breakfast it could be better . See ye next year !

Dear Ciara I,

Delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Ross Family Festival. It really was fantastic this year, one of the best I hear!! You are right about the Warren too; it is an amazing place and safe for family's also.

I am pleased to hear that you found the staff so accommodating. We are lucky to have a good team that have been with us a while now, they are what makes us what we are.

Regards breakfast, there are one or two comments such as yours so we will pay it a little extra attention to ensure we get it right. Hopefully see you next year:-)

Kind Regards,

Neil Grant

The hotel is located across the street from the bay. Great view in the mornings. The town of Rosscarberry is a very quant town with a couple of pubs, but not much else. If you aren't looking to leave the hotel or just walk along the water, this may be your hotel. Staff is accommodating and nice. Hotel bar very nice.
Don't expect air conditioning in the rooms.

Many thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am glad that you enjoyed Rosscarbery and the Hotel.

We are blessed with great public areas so you really can do as much, or as little, as you like. I am delighted that you explored the village. There are some fantastic pubs in the square that are a "must see". Our apologies RE: the heat in the room; the summer has had the Hotel storing heat so it has been very warm on occasion.

Many thanks again. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Kind Regards,

Neil Grant

We stayed here last Friday night on our way to Kerry. We had stayed here twice previously so we knew exactly what to expect. For a 3 Star hotel, it is of a very good standard, well run, clean and friendly. Offering good value for money. The Celtic Ross is a proper hotel, not a developer hotel. I would imagine that it has a very local staff, who take pride in their place of work and value the hotel in their village/town. We have used the leisure centre on our previous visit but not on this occasion as it was just a short stay. Breakfast was lovely and we even got a complimentary newspaper to take away with us. Thanks again to all the lovely staff and I hope its not too long before we are back again.

Room Tip: Try and get a room overlooking the estuary - its fab to see the fish jumping and the swans gliding a...

Having recently returned from a very enjoyable stay in the Celtic Ross Hotel, I just had to pass on our very positive comments. Overlooking the lovely estuary that forms Rosscarbery Bay, the setting is indeed unique. The ideal location really suited our needs as we like to spend time in the superb surrounding countryside that is West Cork, with it's beautiful coastline, magnificent beaches, & lovely towns & villages too numerous to mention. There is so much to explore in the area & we have been returning for many years, but this was our first time to stay in the Celtic Ross & we certainly intend to return. We stayed for four nights & enjoyed superb food in the restaurant, had a very comfortable room & the staff were first class, so we look forward now to a return visit in the not too distant future.

Just spent a week at this hotel. Really wonderful location -a lovely welcome from the staff. Our room overlooked the bay and was spacious and comfortable.
The meals were all excellent . I can recommend this hotel highly.
Every aspect of care extended by all the staff .

We enjoyed our stay in the area but next time we'll be looking for a good quality B&B.

The restaurant staff were good and very interested in our enjoyment. However, for the price, this hotel should provide more.

The overriding impression was one of shabbiness. The carpets are worn and stained. The bedroom was small and claustrophobic. They should remove the single bed. The bathroom was well beyond its sell-by date. I hadn't seen an old tube TV in many years but they have them here. The remote was held together with tape. Not that it mattered because the reception on the TV was so bad, it was unwatchable. Shabby indeed.

The food was decent enough in the restaurant but the choice was limited.

All in all, a disappointing place to stay. The price should be sixty percent of what it was.

Stayed for one night last weekend.
It was a great experience. The staff couldn't have been more friendly even though they were after two days of wedding. The food was excellent. Looking forward to visiting again. The restaurant was a real treat especially for my grandchildren.
