Had a great meal the place was full and obviously a little bit of a struggle.
The new owners said they were still getting to grips with the amount of people eating and drinking
Obviously a few teething problems but obviously they wanted to help as much as possible.
I recommend this pub/restaurant. If you want a heated up meal at a cheap price go elsewhere. If you want quality food and a friendly family restaurant/hotel try here, you won't be disappointed

Room Tip: All rooms the same, this is a pub not 5 star hotel, be realistic. Great place just try it.

On arrival, reception was shambolic. My partner's brother had booked two rooms (we were visiting for a near-by engagement party)- for two sets of guests arriving seperately- you would not believe the confusion this caused. Firstly they couldn't find the key- one of the staff quipped 'It's not Fawlty Towers, honestly!' and then when they did they gave us the key for the other guest's room- who had arrived the previous day! So we walked into an occupied (but mercifully empty) room. When my better half took the key back he was made to feel like it was his fault and there was more confusion over us arriving at a different time to the other half of the party.....but you know what- mistakes happen and we're not ones to make a fuss but this 'start' was indicative of the whole place.

The main issue, for us, was the complete lack of care/attention to detail that this hostelry shows to guests. The room was pretty dowdy- furniture was cheap pine. House-keeping was not up to standard (we have cleaners at home who outdo this place- they leave the place spotless and only come once a week; so why there was dust on the surfaces here, I do not know). The room smelt like it had been sprayed with upholstery-freshener- cushions, etc smelt of it- 'to hide what?', you end up wondering. The carpets were stained. The bathroom upkeep was pretty grotty too- mouldy grime around the shower taps, etc. Breakfast was very dispiriting- minature cornflake packets, cheap yogurt and orange juice cartons ('happy shopper', no less)- to be eaten in your own room, despite the fact the rooms are attached to a country inn. Great!

It only cost £60/ night, but this isn't the 1970s and it's not unreasonable to expect some kind of welcome and to feel like some care and thought has gone into it. Definitely not even worth this amount of money. It just felt like they wanted the money but didn't give a stuff about whether we'd had a good time or not. A poor show.

This is a great venue near Warwick, Stratford and Birmingham. I called in today for a bar meal and was not disappointed. Service was quick and personal and the new owners were making a large American party comfortable as I left. There are rooms on site so a great stopover location. Alfresco dining is a delight either in the well kept garden or on a covered terrace. Plenty of parking should soon make this a favourite with passers by, tourists and business guests.

I booked in at The Falcon on Tuesday 9th July for a couple of nights. Great value hotel.

I did read the comments but was pleased to see that new owners, Dean and Kelly had taken over on the day I booked in.

They are renovating rooms as we speak, installing flat screen TVs, new beds etc etc. Importantly , they are also living on site and are soon top start offering full English breakfasts.

Their lunch and evening menus are excellent too.

Plenty of parking and a nice garden area makes this an ideal spot .

Great for an overnight business trip if you want a good base near the NEC.

Would stay again

We booked 2 rooms for ourselves and another couple via booking.com in February as an alternative to staying at the more expensive Wroxall Abbey Estate, where we were attending a wedding. We had a printed confirmation of our rooms, however, when our friends arrived at The Falcon they were told that there was no booking and that there is a B and B further down the road. They said that this was unacceptable and were then told that there were 2 rooms available but they had not been cleaned so they would do this now if we wanted. We joined our friends in the bar to wait for our rooms to be made ready and received a complimentary drink while we waited. We asked if we could be served food while we were waiting but we were told that, contrary to their website, food was not served in the afternoons until 6pm. As we were going to a wedding reception we did not want to eat that late but with no real choice we had to accept this, the food was pleasant but the service was slow as there were only 2 bar staff who were also waiting on tables. We were eventually allocated our rooms which on the surface looked perfectly pleasant however on closer inspection, the sink had hair in the plughole, the bin had not been emptied and the general appearance of the bathroom was shabby. We found the bed to be extremely lumpy and uncomfortable and while other people have mentioned the noise from the busy main road, we did not find that this disturbed our sleep. In the morning (bearing in mind that we were late checking into the room through no fault of our own), the housekeeping maid knocked on the door at around 10am; as we were not ready to vacate the room at that point and we were still dressing, she unlocked the door and tried to come in until we shouted for her to go away and she left the door unlocked. We also found that there was no hot water in the room so we couldn't shower or have a wash with hot water which was very disappointing. I would say that these are minimum expectations even for a budget establishment.

My birthday meal today at The Falcon. We were a table of 8 with a booking for 12.15pm. Arrived at 12 noon to be greeted by ......nobody. Looked like they were still setting up, cleaning spray on the bar with tray of crockery etc. Anyway we were shown to our table where we were left to settle in. Menu's arrived and a drinks order placed. These weren't exactly forthcoming and we should have guessed this was how the whole experience would end up being. The waiter didn't know what the soup was - why? 4 starters (2 soups 1 baked cheese one bread and olives - ie nothing that takes long to prepare) took nearly half an hour to arrive. They were cleared then the real wait began. The mains arrived at 1.15pm, far too long to wait. Thank goodness the kids had books with them. The meals to be fair were nice but then I suppose they are meant to be. Here's the embarrassing bit - a waiter asked me if there were any candles to go on the birthday cake. I didn't know what he was talking about. It seems my sister had brought a surprise birthday cake to the restaurant and asked for it to be brought out after our main meals so it was an awkward moment when I was asked about candles. Surprise spoilt. Would we visit again - no. The waiting was totally unjustified given that our order was the first one to go to the kitchen.

Went for dinner here yesterday. Arrived at 3.10pm- took 10 minutes for a drink order to be taken and a further 10 for food (there was only us and 1 other table there) Food order of 4 x roast beef then took 45 minutes to arrive.
Food was tasty so at that point we excused the wait and ordered dessert. However these then took well over half an hour to arrive- one of our party went over to ask for the bill and cancel the dessert. The waiter then went into the kitchen and said "oh they were just ready" and bought out 3x burnt chocolate puddings (from being under a heat lamp), melted ice cream and a rice pudding that was supposed to have fruit compote but was just lumpy with glacé cherries.
I then went over myself and asked for he bill, stated our problems with the service and desserts and asked him to take the dessert back and remove them from the bill. Instead of trying to apologise the staff member who was in charge came over and told us the reason our food was so long was because we didn't order starters and that the desserts were fine and we should pay for them (we had all left our dessert and he could clearly see they were burnt)
Once again I stated we would not be paying for such substandard food or service (twice when we went to toilet and first complain about the wait we heard the chef asking the staff how they wanted their dinner cooked- so this was obviously more important than paying customers)
SHOCKING customer service. Would never recommend this place to anybody!
