“Really enjoyable walk.”

Owner description: State of the art locks were built at Hatton to flight off stiff competition from the roads and railways in the 1930's. When the locks were completed bands played and crowds gathered to watch the Duke of Kent arrive by boat and cut the ribbon. Today Hatton Locks is a lovely peaceful location to watch the colourful narrowboats as they move through the flight and if thats too much excitement why not enjoy a picnic or bite to eat in the cafe.

“Really enjoyable walk.”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

We had a really enjoyable walk along the canal on a lovely morning. Car park £1.20 for all day in nice setting by a series of locks.Saw a few barges making their way along canal and finished up at lovely little cafe for a drink and toasted tea cake. Highly recommended if like myself you enjoy a walk along the canal.

“A lovely place for a walk”
Reviewed 12 April 2014 via mobile

This impressive flight of locks is a lovely place for a walk. Very quiet and tranquil when I was there, with views down towards Warwick as you walk down the canal towpath.

I stopped off here for an hour or so on a lovely March day and had a quiet and relaxing stroll along the canal, watching barges coming and going while negotiating the locks. I can imagine it being busy in the summer months and not as peacefull, but for me it was a lovely little escape from the hustle and bustle of life. I also enjoyed sitting near the bank for lunch, with a drink and hot Ham and Cheese Pannini bought from the Hatton Locks Cafe.

“HUGE Parking Charge at Hatton Bottom Lock Car Park”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

For many years now my husband and I, my family, and friends have parked at Hatton Bottom Lock car park FOR FREE to walk the 2 miles up to the little café, and sometimes beyond to Shrewley (for the Durham Ox), or Hatton Craft Centre, or even into Warwick itself. Imagine our disgust, disappointment and horror on arriving at the small car park on Thursday morning to find the car park now had a MINIMUM charge of £4.50 after 10am, and £6.50 (before 10am) to park all day. How on earth can this charge be justified? The car park was empty. Needless to say, we left straight away and parked elsewhere. The larger car park at Top Lock charges £1.20. There are no facilities at Bottom Lock, nothing!! Not even a loo!! Can whoever imposed this stupid charge please remove it immediately.

“Really enjoyable walk”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

I've walked along the canal and Hatton Locks many times. If you fancy a romantic walk or an afternoon out with the children, this is a lovely place to go. There is a nice cafe with outdoor seating for a sit down while enjoying the picturesque scenery and watching the canal boats go by. Hatton country is just round the corner too, which is well worth a visit.
