Description: Growing up in a traditional Sicilian family, the three Di Giorgi brothers have been immersed in Italian cooking their whole lives. In 2007 a unique restaurant was formed called Fratelli that would embody the sum of their travels, food philosophies and experience. Together with the help of their team they offer brilliantly simple dishes that are wonderfully fresh and mouth-watering using only the highest quality ingredients both locally sourced and straight from the motherland whenever possible. The menu really does cater for everyone, no matter what your requirements may be, incredible food and an impeccable service ensures everyone has a great time when they dine with Fratelli.

Ampthill Rugby Club Beer festival this weekend, opened with inclement weather so the ten of us decided to start proceedings with an impromptu lunch at Fratelli

To leave room for beer :) we only had mains

Prompt and friendly service accompanied by good food

Kids had mix of pastas and pizzas - they also offer wheat free pasta which was great

Adults had Cozze, meat balls, Calzone and Risotto

My meat balls were very good

Only criticism for me was the glass of red wine I had which I thought was rough

At 127 pounds for 10 including drinks and coffees I thought was good mind you

We all had a lovely 3 course meal, the service was great with attentive wait staff and food arriving together all hot. The food quality was extremely good and everyone enjoyed what they ordered.

I would recommend Fratelli's to everyone.

Having heard good things about Fratelli's and a family member had reasonable food before this was booked for a special birthday family meal. Big disappointment doesn't begin to cover it.
We weren't over impressed to begin with with the heavy handed messages beforehand about no birthday cakes being allowed to be consumed on the premises although they did condescend to allow us to bring one as long as no part of it was eaten. Likewise having to pre order food is fair enough for a massive party but not midweek with 7 adults and 3 children. Not what we would call a massive party. However we obliged. So we were very unimpressed that the prebooked food did not arrive quickly once we had arrived on time / early. In fact one of the starters was still being waited for when others were finished. We were pretty sure they had forgotten it but neither admitted that nor apologised for the lateness.
Likewise main courses arrived sporadically and service was poor overall.
The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a week night but there were plenty of waiting staff who weren't attentive to needs at all. No check back was made that we were aware of although apparently this was made to one member of the party in the format 'food alright?' or similar.
Additional water was asked for several times but it didn't arrive so we gave up.

The food itself was nice enough but nothing special and certainly did not make up for the poor service and rather steep prices for what it was. The only saving grace was that they did not add on the 'obligatory' 10% service charge for a party over 8 as we would have blown a fuse at that. We certainly won't return when there are many good authentic Italian restaurants within a short drive.

Visited fratellis on a Friday evening as a group of 4. It was busy which is a good sign. Great atmosphere and an open kitchen with pizza oven which adds to atmosphere. Service and food were great. But I think £20 for a bottle of pino and £3.50 for bottle of pelligrino water is a bit expensive.

This is my second visit to Fratelli's. We attended on Saturday night as a group of 8. Service was good although there was a slight misunderstanding by the Waiter who brought one of the party mushrooms rather than mussels to start. We had 3 courses and all were delicious. The house White was also a good entry level wine.
The restaurant was very busy. We booked in advance which I would recommend as I did see some groups turned away due to no tables being available. Overall a good restaurant serving well cooked food at a reasonable price. No doubt we will return.
