Yet again this place knocks it out the park, well golf course. This must be around eighth stay at Fairway View (probably nudging 3 months rental over the past 4 or 5 years in total). As usual it was beautiful overlooking the golf course, inside was again spotless and smelt nice and fresh.
You can park your car under a car port right outside, so if raining you don’t get wet getting luggage in. It was spotless and fresh accommodation with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, each with plenty of storage (wardrobe space and drawer space). Bathroom had a lot of towels provided. Sky TV with lots of channels. Nice touches like milk in the fridge, packet of chocolate biscuits and tea / coffee, and the kitchen and appliances were spotless and worked like they would at home. Drying rack and baby cot are also provided (very rare), along with baby booster chair. 6 seat dining table.
A comfy leather couch with recliners each side, and two arm chairs provide comfy seating for 5 in the lounge, dishwasher tablets and laundry powder. Stunning setting right on the golf course (two sets of patio doors leading to a patio and lawn right next to the golf course), I’ve spent many an evening enjoying glass of wine reading the papers watching the sunset and dusk golfers. There is a table outside with plenty of chairs for alfresco dining. Decent Wi-Fi available throughout the house, and outside.
As for Watton, it’s a lovely market town, a handy Tesco about 1.5 miles away from the golf course, numerous little pubs and shops, a small local market held once a week. The location is also great for visiting the Norfolk broads and the coastal regions, which although are an hour drive, its lovely country side. And after a long day seeing Norfolk, coming back to this place, and relaxing, with the occasional deer to be seen at dust / dawn makes it perfect.
I simply can't rate this place high enough and I miss being there.
We absolutely loved our stay! From the moment we arrived we were surrounded by gorgeous green views in a quiet and peaceful location. Supplied with generous tea, coffee and biscuits, all the TV channels you'd ever need, and more, we felt right at home. The apartment is located in a great area; we travelled all over Norfolk with such ease. We traveled with my 9 month old grandson whom enjoyed the spacious living area tremendously! If we are ever going to be in the area again we will not hesitate to book with Geoff again; we could not have asked for a better stay. Thank you!
The apartment is fantastic and a credit to Geoff and Lynda who are fantastic hosts.
The apartment has everything you require and feels like a home from home , which it was 4 nights a week during my extended stay in the area ( work commitments ). Would recommend too anyone looking to stay in the Watton area.
From the moment I arrived here the peaceful setting just takes your breath away. The apartment is spotless with beautiful linen on the beds.
The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of crockery, glasses pots and pans and cooking utensils. There is a dishwasher, washing machine etc and everything works well. There is free wifi and also sky TV and they have board games too. We stayed with our toddler daughter and the owners arranged a seat booster which was a nice touch. They can also set up a crib/highchair if required.
The apartment opens out on to the golf course. There is a table outside with plenty of chairs for alfresco dining. We had breakfast and evening meals outside whist watching the golfers. Even if it rains, you can sit out has there the covered balcony above keeps you dry. There are plenty of places for day trips nearby. If you have young children, I would highly recommend Bessingham Steam trains.
This place felt like a home from home and only 2 hours from London. It makes a great place to escape to any time of the year. I would certainly be coming back !
Stayed over the bank holiday weekend with our young family. Visited Norwich and then took a boat out on the Broads.
Had a nice meal at the Willow Tree, Watton High St which was very nice. Staff there friendly and welcoming.
The apartment itself is clean and comfortable and on a lovely spot by the golf course. When we arrived the fridge was stocked with fresh milk, nice touch as I was gagging for a cuppa after a traffic laden journey from Kent.
Geoff, the owner, popped in to say hi which was nice and I would thoroughly recommend this rental.
