“Beautiful place / Do NOT rent quads”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014 via mobile

The dunes itself are a beautiful and stunning scenery. Your jeep/tour guide will probably recommend you to rent a quad as you apparently don't have enough time to see the sun set afterwards. This is not true. It will take you about 30 min to walk up, take pictures and come back. The quads do not really work anyway (you constantly get stuck) and locals on top of the dunes will ask you for more money when pushing your quad.

Generally, the experience would be much greater without the noise and hassle. I hope the government will do something about that.

“Nice for sunrise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

Nice location to watch sunrise, terrible road up to them. Not too much hassle from atv drivers. Walked to sand dunes. Pretty busy with atvs whizzing by. Worth a visit. Far better than crowded, dirty red sand dunes

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014 via mobile

The white sand dunes were really beautiful. You can choose to ride the ATV, or walk on your own. I chose the latter.

To be honest, itd be prettier without the ATV. It was quite noisy with the 4-wheelers cruising around. But nevertheless, the view was magnificent and theres a nice lake right beside the dunes.

I went on a jeep group tour. So each person contributes $7. If you stay in a backpacker hostel, you can easily find friends to go with you. If not, theres so many tour agencies thay provide the same kind of tour.

“No brakes on the quads”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

Beautiful place, had fun for about 2 minutes until I discovered my brakes didn't work on top of one of the biggest dunes. After catapulting down a 15m sand dune into a pond and burning several layers of skin off my leg from the tyre (had to go to hospital), I wasn't even given a full refund- not worth it at all.

“Must go while in Mui Ne”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014 via mobile

The white dunes was amazing! Its counterpart, the red sand dunes is probably not worth the time. If you can, rent yourself a bike and navigate yourself there (either with a map or googlemap). That way, you can avoid the tour package, and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Theres atv to be hired at the dunes. Forget about the slides. Its not worth it(they will keep trying to sell you). The atv is slightly dangerous though. But its still pretty cool. One of us fell but the white sand dunes cushioned your fall and you can get away with small scratches even at high speed.
The photos here can even pull of as a desert expedition!:)
