Owner description: Southeast Asia is usually associated with a wet, tropical environment, but, in the area of Mui Ne, Vietnam, lays a beautiful desert. white sandunes is 50km away from mui ne central ,the city of Mui Ne is four hours from Ho Chi Minh City, in the south of the a further 45 minutes, and you arrive at Bau Trang, Bau Trang, or the White Sand Dunes, is one of the only desert areas in Southeast Asia and is a beautiful expanse of dunes and sand. There are no camels here; instead, shepherds herd cows through the sandy expanse. Perhaps the most striking part of the area is a small lagoon covered in lotus flowers. Beside the lake, there is also a small pine forest that makes the wind cool, even in the hot Asian desert.

Coolest place to offer a funny race with motorbike 4 wheels on the hill, most beautiful landscapes and views!

Jeep tour took us to this location. The drive from Mui ne lasts approximately 45 minutes. The sunrise was spectacular. Great place to make some excellent pictures, although it was quite windy.

Mui Ne means sheltered peninsula and also used to be a seasonal harbour by fishers. This particular area was formerly busy through the Cham civilization throughout the 8th 100's of years and it is home to several of the earliest Cham relics in Vietnam. The area can be found between the ocean, sand dunes, rivers, and mountain which makes it much more than a seaside destination.

It was a good place to visit in Mui Ne. I purchased a half day tour (300,000 Vietnamese dong) which the jeep driver picked me up at the hotel and take me to the White Sand Dunes and other places. I arrived there around 5.15 am. And I have to pay for another jeep for taking me to the top of the dunes (200,000 Vietnamese dong per person).

I was a overprice for this tour as someone reviewed that it should be 7-12$ per person for this tour but I paid 21$.

Moreover, there are many people there so that it’s hard to get a good picture.

It's advisable to ttavel there very early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat. Also, wear comfortable clothes and bring spare ones to change after visiting.
