We had an ensuite room for 2 nights. We chose Launceston because it is centrally located between the north/south coasts of Cornwall, offering flexibility as a base for day trips in the south west.
Tyne Wells House is conveniently located just off the A30. The Pennygillam Industrial Estate is close by, but due to the terrain and positioning of the house, the highway and industrial estate are not seen or heard. In fact, it is very quiet and peaceful.
When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Mary and Bernard Tucker, who tended to all our needs, including provision of fresh milk, provision of free WiFi, booking a dinner table for us at the nearby Eliot Arms Hotel (Tregadillett), and even loaning us their regional travel guide.
The room was large and well maintained, and beautifully furnished with obvious attention to detail. The view from the window was a relaxing vista of uninterrupted farmland. The ensuite was above average size, also well maintained, and beautifully furnished.
Both the room and ensuite were spotlessly clean, as was everything at Tyne Wells House.
Breakfast was provided at a mutually agreed time, and was beautifully presented with good cheer. The hot breakfast was excellent quality with very generous portions.
I would definitely stay at Tyne Wells House again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends. Mary and Bernard are genuinely nice people - great ambassadors for the UK and Cornwall.More
