“Amazing cottage!”
Reviewed 24 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

My wife, myself and our young son spent 5 lovely days in this cottage set in a beautiful and tranquil part of Cornwall. Very secluded and the views are just supperb. The cottage itself was exactly as described , in fact the photos don't do it justice! Very clean and cosy with everything to hand... A truly lovely cottage! Helen was extremely hospitable and accommodating to our needs. We have had a really lovely break, our first in quite a few years, and we were able to visit some wonderful places and even got to see an owl one night.. Amazing! Will definitely be back.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Ta Mill is truly a secluded hideaway but within easy reach of some fantastic beauty spots that are well worth a visit including Boscastle, Crackington Haven on the North coast or the rugged, unspoilt wonders on Bodmin Moor including Rough Tor. Ta Mill is a haven for nature so I'm not at all surprised you saw an owl, with both barn and tawny owls on site. You don't have to be bird watcher to appreciate the myriad of wildlife that you can spot during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back to Ta Mill in the near future.

“Truly a secluded hideaway”
Reviewed 5 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

My husband and I recently have just returned from a very romantic week away in Cornwall and this was the ideal location to stay - if you want to be in the middle of nowhere. We could not get a wi-fi signal in the cottage (although we were told there was one at the main house) but for us it didn't matter. We were given details of some wonderful places to visit, walks on craggy cliffs, beautiful bays to view and a recommended list of restaurants and eating places. And we had a chance to take a hot-tub soak twice during our stay. Hostess Helen was extremely helpful if we had any problems and so we weren't completely out on a limb. This is a perfect place if you want seclusion but to be near enough in a car to visit some of the most beautiful parts of Cornwall.

Thankyou so much for your kind review. It is true we are looking forward to a faster broadband connection. According to the BT outreach boys we may well have SUPERFAST by Xmas- will keep you posted. We are well situated for visiting many lovely destinations in Cornwall and you can retreat to your cosy cottage with a well deserved Hot Tub massage at the end of your day. The cottages have wood burners and central heating so perfect for romantic winter nights. I'm glad that you appreciated the 'romantic, secluded ambience' of Ta Mill. Hope to see you again one day.

Yes, I remember when you arrived- certainly a 'rough' night. Close the door on the cottage with the log burner roaring and you can forget the wind and rain outside. Despite the weather, the birds still manage to sing a merry song in the mornings. What a contrast now! Sun shining, lambs prancing around the fields - it really does feel like Spring is in the air.

Definitely a place to stay if you are looking for some privacy- you cant get phone reception unless you are with vodafone and wifi is only limited around reception area.
Would definitely come back, owner is very friendly and helpful left my laptop charger and received it back within a day! Not forgetting very friendly dogs too :)))

“Beautiful setting, lovely cottage”
Reviewed 21 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Last holiday before a 'new arrival' so we wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing, but not too far from civilisation for days out. We stayed in Hayloft Cottage and it fitted the bill perfectly.
Ta Mill isn't far from everything we wanted to see and do, and in a lovely, quiet location. The cottage has been carefully renovated to a really high standard, lovely balcony to relax with an evening drink (for me at least!) and an ideal place to unwind.
With a small pitch and putt course, play area and a games room (table tennis and pool) there'd be enough to keep kids entertained in the evenings. Would recommend Ta Mill to anyone, what's not to like??

Thankyou for your review. It's hard to sometimes explain accurately that Ta Mill is surrounded by rolling countryside, peaceful and tranquil, set in its own little valley yet easily accessible and close to many lovely places in Cornwall and Devon. You have "hit the nail on the head" with your comments and we hope that the accommodation exceeds expectation for all our guests. Good luck with your 'next venture'- hope to see you both with your new addition soon.

“Beautifully renovated cottage in a wonderful setting”
Reviewed 1 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

I don't have anything bad to say about Miller's cottage where my partner and I had a wonderful 5 day holiday. It totally exceeded my expectations. It was spacious, homely, warm, super quiet and extremely well equipped. Incredibly efficient wood burner, lovely big bath, big comfortable bed, all newly refurbished, laundry facilities onsite, Helen the owner was very helpful and accommodating even in the middle of lambing! The only thing missing was internet and phone signal in the property but in terms of getting away from it all that was a blessing and not a hindrance, there always the local pub to pick up emails. I would really like to keep it secret so it would always be free when I wanted to come back but that would be mean...

Thankyou for your kind comments. The Millers cottage is one of my favourites with its underfloor heating and exposed beams! I'm glad you were able to unwind and switch off for a few days. Mobile phone reception is fine for Vodafone on site but some of the other networks are limited (there is a pay phone). Internet connection (WiFi) is available in or near the reception but not in the cottages. Hopefully, we will get a faster speed soon with 'superfast broadband' being gradually introduced to all areas of Cornwall- we live in hope! Lambing nearly over now, so plenty of 'spring lambs' playing tags in the fields..

“Perfect relaxing getaway”
Reviewed 30 October 2011 for a stay in October 2011

The Millers cottage was lovely, so warm, comfortable and cosy. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful and quiet with some lovely walking on the doorstep including a dog to show you the way! Ideally placed for exploring the north and south coasts, some really nice north coast spots very nearby. Fantastic holiday, thanks!

Really pleased that you enjoyed your holiday with us. Heidi (our sheep dog) loves to take visitors on walks down the nature trail to one of our wildlife ponds and on to St Clether's Holy Well, if you go a little further! Millers cottage is newly renovated this year with under floor heating so warm slates in the living area and wonderfully cosy upstairs. The bedroom is very spacious with stunning features such as exposed beams and sloping ceilings, yet maintaining a cosy feeling. The woodburner means that visitors can enjoy a romantic fire as winter closes in. We believe Millers cottage is truly a luxurious cottage all year round.
