Lovely country house with a stunning country setting. Warm and friendly hosts. All food is home cooked and tastes amazing. I particularly enjoyed strawberry pavlova! Will definately be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

my niece
Had her wedding reception at Craigadam,
The welcome was fantastic.
The rooms were amazing! The food....just superb!!
The hosts Richard and Celia Pickup were attentive, warm and we were treated like one of the family!
My mother is disabled, they even gave her breakfast in bed as she was too tired to attend breakfast! They just could not do enough for us.
The team ensured the whole day was memorable, and very special for us all!
Thank you Thank you so much for such a wonderful weekend!!!!
Love from us all. The Jarvis/ Overend crew! xxx

Thank you for a wonderful stay!
I stayed with my faithful hound and cannot express how much we enjoyed ourselves; from the rooms, the food, the walks, the staff, I felt that the combination of all these factors made the stay so special. I loved the fact that I was invited and encouraged to walk my dog on the farm, responsibly of course, and that he was made as welcome as I was. The room I had was beautifully decorated, was very comfortable and had plenty of room to accommodate myself and my rather large dog!
The food was delicious both at dinner in the evening and for breakfast. I'm not normally a big eater but I was determined to finish all three courses. The fact that so much of the meal was either produced from the estate or using local produce was fantastic, it makes such a refreshing change from all the mass produced bought in rubbish that you encounter so often these days, and I would rather pay more for this privilege.
So thank you, Celia and Richard, for having me to stay, by the time I left I felt like I had gained two friends not just been a guest, and I hope to be knocking on your door again very soon.

Firstly i have to say this is review is no reflection of the owner, who was very warm in the limited interaction we had with her.
We stayed in the creole room which we were pretty disappointed with. Firstly the was no curtain on one of the windows which meant that sun poured into the room at 5.30 in the morning. Secondly the sofa in the room was very lumpy and uncomfortable. Thirdly the sash window in the bedroom didnt seem to open and had a broken pain in it. Fourthly there was a loose piece of wood which kept knocking against the bed very annoying. Finally the bathroom, tiny only the size of a small wardrobe no bath and tired in general appearance.

The other couple in our party stayed in another room which seemed much nicer and had a bath i guess it was just our bad luck there.

The breakfast was very good, we had dinner one night after reading the reviews wasn't bowled over to be honest. overall i cant recommend craigadam which is sad to say.

Room Tip: avoid creole room

Beautiful place. Lovely big rooms with all the facilities. Stunning views and a really warm welcome. Will definitely be coming back here! Also, it's very peaceful which is amazing for the city ears. The beds are extremely comfortable and the south east Asian inspired room is a lovely touch.

Thank you again Celia and Richard for another fantastic break. Busy time of year Richard in lambing shed 24/7 working his .. off yet still had had time to take in Alex and Victoria into the lambing shed and not only show them the job but let them get involved. Could not be made more welcome in this truly fantastic environment. Alex wants to know how H9 lamb is doing....

We have just come back from hosting our wedding at Craigadam Estate and could not have wished for a more perfect setting.

We wanted a small, family wedding and booked the hotel for an ‘exclusive use’ weekend which was actually very good value. The hotel itself is a beautiful venue, with lovely grounds and large, comfy bedrooms which are a world away from the generic conformity of so many hotels. We came up to stay for a couple of weekends in advance of the wedding and worked with Celia, the owner, to agree arrangements and menus. Nothing was too much trouble for her and we felt confident that everything was in safe hands. And indeed for the wedding weekend itself everything ran like clockwork. The service was fantastic – friendly and efficient but unobtrusive – and all the food was first rate; not overly fussy just high quality, local ingredients expertly cooked. We all had a great time together as a family: the ‘Honesty Bar’ arrangement worked well, we relaxed in the sumptuous drawing room and the young (and not so young) made much use of the full sized billiard table late into the night. If we had been designing our ideal wedding venue from scratch it would look remarkably similar to Craigadam. We will definitely be back soon!

Room Tip: The rooms around the courtyard are ideal if traveling with a dog as they each have direct access to...
