We have stopped here several times now, often with our dogs. Apart from being a great traditional English pub in a beautiful village it really stands out for its attention to doggy detail!

Dogs are provided their own blanket, bowls and snacks - and most impressive is the selection of local dog walks which have been planned out for you.

The rooms are modern and clean, with lovely bathrooms. The breakfasts (for humans) are scrumptious and there is a lovely ambiance in the bar in the evening. Well worth a trip.

Stopped over for 1 night on my way down to Cornwall and was really impressed. The room was excellent: large comfy bed, plenty of room and a small fridge stocked with complimentary drinks ! The bathroom was big, really clean and very modern. The food was good & the staff very helpful & friendly. Would certainly stay here again , great value for money !
Dogs are well catered for too: blanket & bowls provided.
The pub has a lovely atmosphere and is perfectly located just a few miles off the A303.
The only possible downside I can see is: all the rooms are on the ground floor with windows giving out on to the beer garden, so in Summer it could possibly be noisy....

Room Tip: I stayed in room n°1

We had a dinner at the Masons Arms on Tuesday night. The three of us agreed that this was a pub definitely worth a further visit. The fish and chips was cooked to perfection and my wife's lambs liver as good as she has eaten. A great find.

Passing through Somerset on my way to Dorset I was recommended to overnight from a good friend who lives in Zurich of all places. Both of us could be described as well traveled and quite discerning. What a real little gem The Mason Arms turned out to be. A clean and comfortable bedroom fitted out with some fine oak furniture fittings and luxury en-suite. A real nice touch is the complimentary beer and soft drinks in the fridge on arrival.

The heart of the village community, the public bar and restaurant was cosy comfortable and friendly. With a micro-brewery as part of the establishment refreshment was exceptional. The menu too was based on the availability of local produce. Dinning was top quality, prepared and presented exceptionally well. The owners are pet friendly too and it was great to see the locals with their dogs, all far better behaved than some others on two legs, in the public bar area.

As a lone traveller it was very refreshing to be made so welcomed. David who manned the bar and served breakfast the following morning was very hospitable and chatty in a non invasive manner. The breakfast too was hearty full english, one of the very best I've enjoyed. But a lighter start to the day was also available.

Without doubt I'm planning to take my other half on my next trip to enjoy together this wonderful find of a truly little gem.

Had a very pleasant stay at The Masons Arms, which lives up to the good reviews it receives here. A lively, thriving village pub, which is so nice to see. Only wish we had something like it near our home!!
