We spent a total of four nights at Ca du Ferra, two at "Il Mulino" and two at "Il Casottino", so we sampled both properties. They each have their charm, with Il Mulino offering the added bonus of a water stream right at your feet! It was perfect for our big party of 7; we shared the two rooms of the Mulino and we used the outside kitchen and barbecue area, which was well equipped. At night, the place lit up with fireflies! At the end of our trip, it was just me and my husband, and we checked in at Il Casottino (one of the two rooms available there). There too, we enjoyed the relaxing garden. Both properties were equally clean, the hostess Aida very welcoming. Communication with her was quick and efficient, first via email and then in person at check-in, when she gave us a wealth of information as she was setting us up. What we really liked about the property - other than its sheer beauty and the many excellent reviews - is that they offered free parking (some 300 meters up the road), and that way we could leave the car and explore Cinque Terre by train/foot. Another plus is that it's a 10 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient for us. We were able to go to Monterosso by train and take the footpath on to Vernazza (only this portion of the path was open to tourists at the time we were there).
I guess, to sum it up, I would say that the place is simply wonderful, an oasis of tranquility and lush vegetation. Highly recommended. We would love to come back and really allow ourselves time to spend in the garden; this time around we wanted to be out in Cinque Terre and we didn't take full advantage of the beautiful gardens at Ca du Ferra.

The Hostess was wonderful from the start- she always responded promptly/helpfully via email, once we arrived she gave great direction and explanation of everything (unlike some of the other agritourismo hosts!) and she cleaned our room daily! wow!
The location was PERFECT, (very easy access to cinque terre towns) the room was clean, and the grounds were beautiful (we went in early spring).
It wasn't luxurious , but it was an excellent stay!!

We've been there for 1 week to discover 5Terre. We really appreciated de kindness of Aida and her family, to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast is good, homemade bread and cakes are very tasty. We used the outdoor kitchen and loved eating in the 'private' garden, next to the river. The train station is about 100m, so it's really a good place, to go hike every day in 5Terre.
Bonasolla itselfs is a very small town, we found it a bit too calm, off season. But Levanto is very nearby, by foot or bike (free rental at Ca du Ferra).

We stayed at Ca Du Ferra for 2 nights. WE LOVED IT! The room was cozy and warm, the property was located up on the hill and was lush with fruit trees and flowers. Walking into town was easy and fun on a small village path. Bonassola is a GREAT town with fabulous food and friendly people. It is very preferable to staying in one of the more touristy Cinque Terre towns.

Aida is a wonderful host, she lives close by and is available if you need her, but she lets you completely do your own thing. She delivers breakfast to a table out in the yard for you every morning. It features homemade yogurt, cakes, homemade bread, coffee, jam, fruit....it's a GREAT way to start your day:)

She also owns very nice bikes which can be rented for 5 euro per day. Bonassola is on a great bike path that runs from Framura to Levanto in old railroad tunnels. We loved riding to Levanto and just enjoying that town, as there is a lot to do. It's also the jumping off point for the Cinque Terre Train so we rode bikes to Levanto (about 20 minutes on flat terrain), tied them up, and hopped the train into the park. It's a great activity!

Lastly, we were visiting Ca Du Ferra on our honeymoon. Aida gave us a bottle of her wine as a parting gift, with a small note attached congratulating us on our wedding! And the wine was absolutely delicious. We loved Ca Du Ferra and felt very at home, and you will too!
