This is really good value or money. The Bellevue is relaxed and the attitude is very laid back. Things might not run as smoothly as a swiss clock (they managed to misunderstand how many we were despite having an email with the number), but they compensate by being flexible and friendly.
Food is french country style (might be a little heavy for some), but it tastes good and satisfies your hunger after a day in the mountains.

Be aware that a car is nice to have at this hotel. There is public transport, including a train - but the service stops around 20 pm so if you've been spending the evening in Chamonix you are stuck without a car.

Also afterskiing in Vallorcine is a far cry from the busy bars of Val Thorens and Avoriaz. I dont actually know if there are any bars besides the one in the hotel. But if you dont care or are enough to create your own party, you'll be fine - and you'll enjoy the nice and quiet rooms (we did not stay at the dormitory room, but the regular rooms are really way better than most of the cramped concrete silos you usually see at ski resorts in france).

I totally recommend this hotel - especially if you are a large group of people with a car

I stayed at this cosy hotel for 6 days with a friend, when we where iceclimbing in the areas around Chamonix. This hotel has a great atmosphere with homebaked bread for breakfast, an open fireplace in the evening, sauna and a good selection of old movies (loved watching Deer Hunter after a hard day in the snow). Bellevue is a small hotel with 8 rooms and a Dormitory where you feel at home. We will return again. I recommend this hotel to everyone looking for a nice, cheap place to stay.

I strongly recommend this hotel if you want a cosy place with a relaxing local atmosphere. The place is not a five star luxury hotel but the very low price compared to the places in Chamonix town centre and the great quality of food and rooms makes it a superb alternative. The staff is very friendly and flexible.

Also recommended is the mountain guide Asmus Norreslet who owns a part of the hotel who can find powder in a bucket of water or arrange fantastic mountain activities as ice climbing, ski touring, alpine climbing, rock climbing and making you as safe as when you are sitting in sofa
