Nice spacious affordable rooms over a pub, how can you go wrong. Parking outside if you're on a motor tour and located right in the middle of Doune. Sit in the Pub and have an ale, or dinner. Breakfast was the standard salt of the earth British fry up. Also, it's just a short walk over to Doune Castle (which is also worth the visit).

Arrived really not expecting much and it was a very lovely surprise to be totally wrong! Amazing room and can honestly say the bed was better than my own bed!! Lovely warm room in middle of winter and beautifully clean. Very cosy and just a perfect place to stay if you want to escape from the world! Food was great and really cannot fault anything. Staff friendly. Will be back next year for another trip.

Great little place. Nice location, right in the centre of the village. The rooms have a lovely cottage-like feel and the bar is cosy but lively with a mix of locals and tourists. The breakfast was excellent, particularly the baked beans and the food in the evening is delicious, traditional Scottish fayre. Would definitely recommend if you're visiting in the area. Have the steak pie!

When staying at The Red Lion I experienced hospitality like no other. The charming staff were very welcoming and took care of our every whim.

Imbibing local ales, sampling home cooked local ingredients and cavorting with the locals in the bar meant that we really got the authentic Scottish experience.

The restaurant was quiet and the food was soberingly good!

Thanks for having us. We look forward to returning soon.

Lovely place. Our first visit to Scotland and this started the holiday off just right. Excellent all round. Lovely welcome after a long journey. All staff very helpful. Room clean and comfortable and warm. Food was lovely and a nice atmosphere all round. Only stayed one night as on our way up to Lochinver but would recommend .

We stayed here for a couple of nights.
The staff are very friendly and the food & drink were excellent.
We visited that Blair Drummond wildlife park which is only a 5 minute drive away.
The family room was perfect for us as it meant we could have everyone in one room.

We stayed in the Red Lion Inn for one night and we loved it! Everybody at the Inn was very welcoming. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was very good, had a nice variety and the prices were great. The staff/owners there were very friendly and tried to help where they could. Everything was very clean. The beds had fresh linen and the towels were nice and fluffy.

The only critic I have is that the noise from the pub could be heard in one of the rooms until pretty late and that there were no toiletries provided.

We will definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Try not to get a room above the pub.
