Stayed 3 days at the hotel. Straightforward and simple but has all what is needed. If you plan to stay longer than 1 week you might long for a bit bigger rooms, especially if you are 2 people and have luggage for more than 1 week. Rooms are clean and location is not noisy. The only drawback was that they were in the process of renewing the public part (restaurant, reception, bar, etc) and as such it was not as expected. Once this is done I´m sure that it will be fine. Has parking facilities inhouse. Friendly staff but not local, so might not know too much about sight seeing etc, but try to help whenever they can. Very well located as the subway station with connection to Munich is just behind the hotel. For Bayern Munich fans it is just 1 or max. 2 stops to the Allianz Arena.

The Ibis Muenchen Garching is a really basic hotel. Good for staying for sleep but if you want to spend here more time, better choose something else. The price is too high but it's Munich...
Nevertheless, it has very good location next to the train station from where you can go straight to the city center in 20 minutes.

Reception is neutral but I have a feeling that night arrivals are maintained by a security guy standing at the reception. I had a problem with getting the invoice at the beginning. Also I had to ask for a receipt of payment because, he was not intending to do it himself.
Check-in lasted too long.
Rooms are basic too. Cheap design. There are beds (quite comfortable), small flat TV with couple of channels, small closet, no sofa but something similar to it. No socket near the bed, so my phone had to stay on the desk for charging. Laptop the same.
The biggest attraction in the room is a toilet that looks like a portable toilet from the street. The cabin is plastic and seems as it was assembled here in the room from pieces. Makes a bad feeling.
Internet is average (M3 Connect). My VPN worked too slow.
Breakfast is also basic but ok. Normal tables so you can have a seat as a human (not like in Motel One next door).

As it comes to Garching. Those hotels are basic. I stayed in Motel One and it is not much different than Ibis. Ibis has bigger room and better restaurant but worse design and Internet. Nevertheless, it is cheaper. I would never try Ibis Budget next doors. So in my opinion if you want normal basic hotel better take Ibis. If you want some design but tiny room and "fast food" restaurant with no regular tables take Motel One.

Personally, I will take Koning Ludwig II Hotel next time.

Room Tip: Rooms with window aiming back side of the hotel have better view and are more quiet.

The hotel is clean and housekeeping is very professional. Personnel is friendly. Rooms are a bit small with a limited cabinet space for clothes etc. The breakfast is just fine. The hotel is next to the Garching-Hochbrück subway station and this is very convenient. Allianz Arena is one subway station ahead while Technical University of Munich is just two stations away.

Internet was not accessible in our room while it is available in the lobby. We informed the reception about this problem but it was not resolved during our stay in spite of the hotel's problem solving policy within 15 minutes!

Dining at Jagerhof biergarten just across the street may be a good choice.

Average hotel, clean, efficient. It was hard to find a parking place outside, so I had to park inside, another 5 Euro. No internet on the room, didn't know that still exists nowadays.

Ok if you want to sleep there and next day need to leave and you don't want to worry about the quality. For what they offer still expensive, even off season.
