We stayed here on a Danube bike trip. This Hotel Garni ( a hotel that does not provide meals apart from breakfast) is locatedabout 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of Sigmaringen which is the other side of the river. We arrived around 1300 and the host drove us over to the town to a restaurant for lunch. Everything about the hotel is excellent - room, supply of toiletries, breakfast. Along with Hotel zum Hirschen in Donaueschingen and Hotel Garni Trumm in Dillingen, it is the best hotel we stayed in along our route. Sigmaringen Castle is worth a visit. Also worth noting is the Flower Fair which seems to run for a considerable part of the summer. IF you're not into flowers it's a complete nuisance as it takes place along the Danube, both sides, in a sort of linear park which also contains the bike path. This means that cyclists have to leave the bike path and find their own way through the town. Also it makes it difficult to cross the river to and from the Jagerhof as at least one of the bridges is closed.

We arrived at the Jaegerhof absolutely covered in limestone mud after cycling in the rain along the German Danube. The hosts kindly showed us where to wash down our tandem bicycle - and then secure it in the garage. Then they directed us to leave our filthy clothing in the downstairs laundry - where it was washed and folded and then returned to us the following morning. The guest house is located within walking distance of the old town of Sigmaringen, although Andreas did kindly drive us into town initially so that we could make it in time to go through the castle in the town centre as well as to eat at one of the local restaurants. The double room was comfortable with an adequately sized bathroom and a small balcony. Although there is no restaurant 'on site' there is tea & coffee provided in the small ante-room near the front foyer. Continental breakfast is served with a more-than-adequate spread. We were impressed by the way we were treated in such a friendly and hospitable way so recommend this delightful guest-house. Internet is provided via wifi.

This was my second stay at the hotel. Just as before I found it truly wonderful. It is located at 10 minutes walk from the city. This time I hired a car with the help of Andreas that champion of hospitality. Car park is available. Last time he offered a lift whenever we were going out

The rooms are neat, well appointed, spotlessly clean. This time I had a big room on the 3rd floor with large bathroom. Underfloor heating is an added benefit.I wish I had it at home. Breakfast buffet has some great offerings and is delicious and well presented.

Bonus points for good wireless internet connection. Not always the case in hotels.

Great place to stay with brilliant hosts - Andreas and his family are just magnificent.

Will come back

We were visiting Sigmaringen to do some research at the Staatarchives. This hotel is a small gem and Andreas and his family are so kind and hospitable. Very neat and clean, breakfast room is inviting, tile floors are heated.
We did not have a car and owner offered to drive us into town several times including final trip to the train station. The town is beautiful with the castle perched overhead and the beautiful Danube running through the town. The people were so helpful and friendly1

We happened upon this small hotel as the the town seemed quite touristy and we did not want to stay in the town. The hotel is on the hill overlooking the town. It was a very clean room with a small older bathroom but for 88 EUR including breakfast it was perfect for a night. It was not in any way luxurious but was great for a night. The staff are low key and charming.

Although a little out of town the gracious hospitality of the host and the staff was so appreciated and well beyond expectation. Just fabulous. The room was excellent, comfortable, quiet and the amenities were of a highest guilty. The breakfast was with little extras and the munificent attitude of the hosts and their staff were remarkable. We would love to come back and stay again.

Room Tip: There were just 3 floors and we opened our windows so, it had some cool air when it was SO HOT It...
