“Great British Pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013

Three of visited The Whip for an evening meal. It was great to experience a pub that still felt like a country pub should. Good atmosphere and brilliant choice of real ales.
The service was friendly and helpful from the start. The menu choice was not huge, but gave a nice range of choices. The food was good quality with good size portions.
I would certainly go back and thoroughly recommend it. I just wished i wasn't driving so that i could have sampled more than one pint!

“Superb Sunday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2013

We went to the whip after passing by the previous weekend, we did book a table as the weather was good and we were worried about elderly parents not having a seat. The gentlemen taking the booking was very helpful and made the process really easy.

When we arrived the table was ready and there was still space in the garden luckily so we opted to sit outside in the sun. This was no problem at all for the staff and it was easy to transfer our drink to the new table. The selection of ales was very good and they even have a board with the next ales to arrive - a great idea I have only seen in one or two places before.

The menu is good and quite varied, from venison steak to roast beef it was very reasonable prices and when the food arrived good portions too. The service was very friendly and the surroundings with the garden with potted plants and hanging baskets of flowers was a very nice place to enjoy a Sunday, the lovely windmill in the next field make this a great location. We will be back for sure ..

“Real Ale real people real English pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

The first English pub experience i can remember was with my late grandfather in 1971
Country pub sun shining pub garden views of a windmill my first taste of real ale and wholesome home cooked food.
All the old memories flood back as you pull up at this great traditional pub.
Great for young or old. Dogs welcome.
Enjoy the fantastic beers, always at least 6 to sample from some of the best micro brewery's in the UK.

“What a good local pub should be like!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2013 via mobile

Friendly atmosphere, excellent beers and ciders to choose from(regular beer festivals throughout the year which are fantastic to experience), good pub food(large helpings!), and a lovely garden overlooking the windmill.
