“Couldn't be better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

What a wonderful 4 days we have just spent at the Copper House, in spite of the less than perfect weather to make full use of the delightful terrace outside our room. We shall have to return to experience the wonderful breakfasts on the terrace - not that it is a hardship to have it served in the fabulously large bedroom with seating and dining area. Arriving to a warm and friendly greeting and offer of tea and scrummy cake set the scene for a great stay. The bed is so comfortable and large that you really don't want to get out! We felt our every need was catered for and Linda and Andy certainly go the extra mile to give their guests a great time - thank you again for the card and chocolates. As others have commented, Linda's breakfasts are superb - the only problem being choosing what to have - it's all so tempting. The storage space in the room is fantastic; it's great to have the fridge and even better that it's stocked with water, milk and Cornish fudge and the soft fluffy dressing gowns were the icing on the cake on the slightly chilly mornings. The only thing left to say to those of you reading this is GO - you'll love it. Thank you Linda and Andy for making our stay so lovely.

Room Tip: Both rooms are great; our friends were in the other room, which was smaller and without the separate...

Hi Julia,
Thank you for your glowing review. We really appreciate your kind words and we are so glad you and your friends enjoyed it here. It was great fun having you. I am very happy that you found the bed, room and breakfasts to your liking. It is wonderful to be able to have breakfast outside on the terrace with the sun shining down on you and only the sounds of wildlife all around. All I can say is have another reunion soon and come and see us again. Our very kind regards,
Linda & Andy

A very relaxing place to be. Linda kindly accepted us, despite 2 kids, and it was a perfect base for exploring Cornwall and particularly the coast to coast cycle path. every comfort had been thought of, it was a really nice place to stay. Thank you Linda.

Hi there,
Many thanks for your review and I am so pleased you, and your wonderfully polite children, had a pleasant stay here. It was an absolute pleasure to have you. I am so glad all the arrangements could be worked out to suit you as a family. We are central to everything here and as you say, it is a good base to visit anywhere in Cornwall. I do hope we see you again.
Kind regards,
Linda

We spent our second stay at the Copper House and it was as fantastic as the first. We have now experienced Room1 and Room2, both being equally first rate in terms of comfort, decor and your own private, peaceful, very spacious room. Which room is best? Well, it comes down to if you prefer to have a bath or a walk in shower. To open the doors onto the balcony and look down over Linda and Andy's lovely garden and the wooded valley beyond is a delight. The house is so well designed, the balconies are on different levels so are secluded and privacy ensured. So very peaceful. Linda's breakfasts are really delicious, wide choice of menu and we enjoy being served in our room. I truly cannot think of one thing that can be improved on. Linda and Andy are such welcoming hosts we look forward to another stay in the future.

Room Tip: Both rooms equally comfortable with tasteful decor and the same aspect. Rooms built on different lev...

Hi Shirley,
I am so happy you enjoyed your second visit as much as your first. What a compliment - many thanks. Many thanks too for the excellent snapshot of our rooms, views and facilities. This is so helpful to potential guests, reading our reviews, when considering where to stay in Cornwall. To say we can't improve anything is a lovely thing to say. Much appreciated. I do hope we see you again next year and I very much look forward to it.
Kind regards,
Linda

Stumbled across The Copper House purely by chance and amazingly got a cancellation to have 2 nights there. Greeted by Linda & Andy , we were given tea and a fantastic cake on arrival.
The room was spacious, well equipped , with a great Bathroom, loads of storage space, a fridge with 2 bottles of Water & Fresh milk. The Balcony has lovely views over the woodlands and their garden. Breakfast was a treat , freshly cooked and eaten on the balcony.
Lovely big bed , tranquil setting made for 2 excellent nights sleep.
Think we may return ! ( Especially for the Fudge and chocolate biscuits ! )

Room Tip: If you can have the larger of the 2 rooms do !

Hi there,
We were very pleased to be able to fit you in on the dates you wanted. It must have been meant to be! The weather was just lovely too so you were able to eat out on the terrace. It is such a pleasure on a good day to look at the views, listen to the birds and eat your breakfast in peace. My thanks for visiting us and we would love you to return. Some fudge will be waiting.
Kind regards,
Linda

This is a great find with wonderful attention to detail in a beautiful setting. We loved our breakfasts on the terrace, Linda is a superb cook and was happy to cater to our special requests. We were there for a wedding nearby which Andy kindly drove us to. The bed was very comfortable and room well equipped, Although it's expensive for a B and B I would recommend it for a special treat.

Hi Lucy,
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay here and loved the terrace as much as we do. The view is pretty stunning this time of year along the valley. Thank you too for saying I am a superb cook - how kind of you. I hope you left here feeling a little bit pampered and relaxed and we would love to see you again some time.
Kind regards,
Linda

The Copper House was a fantastic getaway. The Decor and Furnishings and House itself were worthy of an episode of Channel 4's Grand Designs. The Bed was Super Comfortable and the Food was excellent. A real hidden gem. With a balcony that overlooks the picturesque Cornish Valley, and a Large Room elegantly and modernly furnished, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in an Elle Decoration Magazine. Linda our host was lovely. Very warm and extremely accommodating. The Breakfast was to die for. Tip! Try the Croissants!!! I swear she must be a Gourmet Chef. "Absolutely Brilliant". If you are looking for a place to stay in Cornwall and are within a 40 minute drive of Portreath, The Copper House, I guarantee, is the only place worth staying. 10/10.

Room Tip: One with a Balcony for glorious Valley Views.
