“Bright, comfortable and extremely convenient for the beach”
Reviewed 21 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We really enjoyed our family holiday (age range 5-70 years) in Gull's Cry. The beach is fantastically close, the coastal path was at its most beautiful with both heather and gorse in full bloom, and even on rainy days the apartment was bright and warm.

Access by car is via a very narrow and steep tarmac road. The owners are very friendly and helpful and generally bring a nice cheer to the place. They even arranged for us to be able to view the atelier of the local artist who painted the amazing seascape displayed in Gull's Cry Cottage.

There were 13 of us on this holiday with ages of 1 to 50 and it was fabulous , we had both properties and made the most wonderful memories here . The owners were most helpful . The properties were decorated lovely , fully equipped and spacious , we sat outside for breakfast and watched the sunrise , had fun on the beach and had the odd day out , we also sat out in the evenings having a barbecue and having lots of family fun . HIGHLY RECOMMEND

“Lovely holiday”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Stayed here with family as we were at a wedding in the area. It's a beautiful
location, right on the beach. We went for a walk along the cliff top behind the house
in the morning, the views are fantastic and great for the kids who loved playing on
the beach. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There are local shops and pub
just a short walk along the beach. We even bumped into Mark Kermode in a local cafe
haha! Would recommend & hope to visit again for a longer stay.

“Stunning Location”
Reviewed 12 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We will definitely be coming back as the location is stunning, the people are friendly and the holiday was just perfect. The location is excellent - we stayed with lots of young children and the beach is just ideal for them (the accomodation is virtually on the beach). The surrounding area is also really beautiful. The accomodation was clean, and absolutely what we were looking for, we shared a 3 bedroom extension complete with kitchen, bathroom, en-suite and living area and we felt right at home from the first day. Portreath itself is a beautiful little village, you will not regret choosing to stay here.

“Good quality accommodation in a lovely spot!”
Reviewed 15 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We stayed at Gulls Cry for 3 nights as an extension to visiting family in North Devon and it was perfect for our requirements and so much nicer than a hotel for our group consisting of myself and my student son & daughter.

The house is furnished to a very good standard, with a well equipped kitchen and very large & attractive main bathroom. The master bedroom also had an en-suite whilst the lounge had a large TV with the full Sky package - perfect for the start of the Ashes!

Everything was very clean and the owner was very helpful and cheerful when we bumped into her, often with the adorable Alfie, her springer spaniel!

Location-wise, it is less than 100 metres to the beach and you can just walk along the shore into Portreath. It is a very clean and child-friendly beach and Portreath, although quiet, has the essentials including a shop, takeaways and pubs. We were out during the day-time but walking on the beach in the fading evening light was a special treat!

Just a word on the access road, it is a narrow lane but perfectly navigable with due care. Parking wasn't a problem either, plenty of space to turn around and park up at Gulls Cry.

In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Gulls Cry to others wanting a similar breakaway in beautiful south Cornwall!
