I booked this hotel for our honeymoon and was a bit worried since my wife had had the worst holiday of her life in Morocco. I booked it because it looked nice and also because of the many good reviews on this website. Not disappointed - the place is perfect for a quiet, comfotable and private holiday. The owners and staff are unstinting in their concern for your well being - our flight was delayed - we arrived at 3am (Avoid Royal Air Maroc if you can) - and not only was the hotel-organised taxi still at the airport but Bruno, one of the owners of the hotel was up and about to welcome us when we got there at 4am! The Maroc Lodge is excellently situated with four or five 'lodges' (little houses) around a small but perfect swimming pool. The service was excellent and very friendly - staying at Maroc Lodge feels like you are staying with friends. My partner is pregnant and we felt very happy with the standard of the food and hygiene. And - if you do stay here, be sure to ask for Latifa, the local guide, to take you into the hills or down to the market in Amizmiz.

I had a truly memborable visit to Maroc Lodge, the place, the staff, the peace were everyhting the 'doctor 'ordered!, I was a bit dissapointed with the so calles Spa', as it was a very tiny room hidden away and it left a lot to the imagination to call it a spa, if they extended it it could be a wondeful place, it was one of the reasons why I went there, all that said My massage and srub were very' very good.
I cannot praise the staff enough, I was feeling a bit vulnerable going on my own,but when I arrived there I need'nt have worried they all made me very wellcome and nothin g was too much trouble, the food was amazing, Thank you David and Beatrice

After some busy days in Marrakech the tranquility of the Maroc Lodge was a wonderful change of pace. Nestled in the foothills of the Atlas mountains with access to amazing hikes and daytrips into Berber communities the Maroc Lodge is more than a day trip. We stayed for 4 days (with 3 children ages 12, 10 and 5) and enjoyed every minute. Our hosts were very helpful in arranging outings. With one or two days notice the were able to arrange a private guide who trekked us (the children on donkeys) to a nearby village where our children made tangines. A second outing involved a driver and van taking us into more distant villages. Again our guide, Latifa, was fantastic.

The villa we stayed in was simply stunning with views out to the town of Amizmiz. The villa was large (2 bedrooms with plenty of room for 5) and decorated with antiques. Tea was served in our rooms and a large fire was built for warmth each evening. The meals were excellent. We ate breakfast in our own dining room or on the terrace off our villa. Lunches were packed for our daily treks and were delicious. We came home to a beautiful dinner which could be served either in our villa or in the dining room of the lodge. These dinners were amongst the best meals we have eaten anywhere. All of this was a great value.

The children especially enjoyed making bread in the traditional Moroccan oven outside.

Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. We have great memories of our time at your lodge. We would highly recommend your lodge and the surrounding area to anyone.

We absolutely loved the Maroc Lodge. We were staying out of season and were in fact their only guests. We were thoroughly spoilt.

Our 4 year old and 6 year old loved it and though we were staying in a palace, the decor was so beautiful, we had a log fire on a couple of nights, nothing was too much trouble.

Latifa gave us a tour of Amizmiz and a local village in the mountains. The children loved her and the whole experience.

It is about an hour's drive to Marrakech, which is a very enjoyable way to spend a day.

It is out in the sticks a bit but if you fancy getting away from it all, wonderful home cooked food and a bit if an adventure, this is perfect.

ps the pool was absolutely freezing.

I don't often write comments about hotels, but I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone who wants to have a few days of relaxation and luxury, and would like the staff to know how much their hard work was appreciated! The villa we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, looking out onto the pool and neighbouring mountains. The staff are wonderful, they were the perfect balance of being attentive but yet unobtrusive. Meals were served at a time to suite us, and were lovingly hand made and presented.

We were only at the lodge for 2 nights as part of our holiday, so we felt no need to leave the site as it provided everything we needed. But there were the options of guided tours, a massage on site, etc. The only suggestion I could make to British visitors is that they have a DVD player in the villa and although they do provide DVDs they are in French so if you like movies perhaps take some with you.

But again thank you to the staff of Maroc Lodge for such a wonderful experience! I loved every minute of my stay with you!

Like many other people I don't often feel compelled to write reviews, but Maroc Lodge deserves it 10 times over. Every detail had been thought through, from the moment of our arrival (we were met by David, one of the owners) to our departure (we were flying at 1900 from Marrakech - David was at pains to point out that our villa was unoccupied after we had left and we were welcome to use it for the entire day - we didn't even have to ask). My boyfriend and I both commented that we couldn't remember the last time we had been so relaxed; Maroc Lodge does this to you, and even though we were only on a mini break I felt as though I had been away for a month on my return.

I cannot recommend this place enough if you are staying in the Atlas. I have stayed at another (significantly more expensive) Kasbah in the region on a separate occasion and would rate Maroc Lodge as better in every way. Please believe all of the other excellent reviews and help to give David, Beatrice, Bruno and all the supporting staff the recognition they deserve!

Last easterholidays we spent 2 days at the Maroc Lodge.
It is a real Royal comfortable and exclusive place, with only 6 very luxerious bungalows.
The french owners Beatrice, David and Bruno are very kind and friendly, and Saida , the lady who served in the late afternoon and evening was a real angel!
The Food was the best we aver tasted in Marocco! Specially the Tajine 'Poulet au miel'!
We will die for it ! Breakfast is super, specially when you order it on the beautiful terras!
The view from the pool on the Atlasmountains was breathtaking, and the immaculated grounds are a real birdparadise!
It is not a cheap place, but according price/quality it is very very good!
The interior of the bungalows is extremely Royal, with antique Louis XV furniture,
so we felt a little bit like 'Marie-Antoinette' in her boudoir!
Prices for food and drinks are correct, and the colourfull village of Amizmiz is only 5 minutes away from the Lodge. Nice walkings in the surrounded area!
Only downside was the stay of a Brittisch family with 3 little spoiled, screeming and yelling children, all day long!!!! So, we needed earplugs when we we're staying at the pool!
But, overall, this is one of the best places in 12 years of travelling in Marocco, we have been! Thank you Saida, for your perfect service and smile, and thank you Beatrice for the bottle of homemade olive-oil you gave us! Hmmmmmmmm
