Just home from our 6th visit to Rhodes, but first time staying at the Elysium. We loved it..great pool, good choice of dining options inside & out. Had hire car & recommend getting around the island as roads are easy (outside of Rhodes town!) to navigate.. Also used the local bus service, 2.20 euros stop is at front door & in the shade runs overly 20 mins..taxi back from Old Town later same evening was only 20 euros. Would recommend Romios for dinner under the stars in Rodod Old Town, 25 euros pp 2 courses inc wine..back to the hotel..We had a lovely room with sea view, fullsize balcony paid no extra & found the hotel staff very helpful with any requests..late checkout was 40 euros which we thought is pretty standard in these hotels. Wifi access was a pain but hotel working on it.. Pool, beach, bar areas were all spotless & well laid out..although the hotel was in peak season, we were never crowded & no hassles getting served for drinks/towels. Breakfast selection was enormous & all nationalities catered for, lunch in the 'Fresh' restaurant was healthy & light, usually ate out in the evenings as the tavernas are great value & good quality Greek traditional dishes. Well stocked mini market, with fair prices & range of drinks/confectionary/papers. Espa spa looked amazing, didn't actually use it but just ran out of time! Noticed the prices very reasonable to other lux hotels inc 20 euro day pass, of free day access with treatments. Kalithea Springs is 20 mins walk along the coast road, simply stunning cove for swimming, restored tiled baths n trendy beach cafe & well worth the effort in the heat! We will definitely return to this hotel & think it compares well to other 5star hotels on Rhodes where we've also stayed. Just 1 thought..if u have young children it's not the best, either for facilities or noise from the evening entertainment - there were several comments in the guest book about this. But for couples, older families etc it's a stunning holiday!

Room Tip: All sea view rooms worthwhile, we were in the 2nd block called Helios which was just a bit quieter..

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review about our hotel.

It is always a pleasure to know that you had a brilliant time with us and that you would definitely choose to return to Elysium.

Thank you also for highlighting the hotel’s leisure facilities, accommodation standards and above all the friendliness and professionalism of our staff; this is greatly appreciated by all of us here in Elysium.

We are sorry if you have experienced any issues with the hotel’s WiFi; the situation has recently been improved and further work has already been scheduled so that any issues are completely eliminated by next season.

Once again thank you for the feedback provided and very much hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in Elysium in the not so distant future.

Best Regards,

We've just returned back having spent a very much expected 7 nights stay at the Elysium Kalithea Rhodos. Although the invitation was for a sea view room, main building, high floor. we got almost nothing of that. After a very rude, hursh and vendictive conversation with Marika [-----] - the front desk manager wich behaved in the worst manner possible and after showing us some crummy rooms she said that the "only option" is to add 80euro per night to the already very expensive paid package in order to stay in a room that we received already an o.k.for that. Only the next morning she "remembered" that she has other simillar rooms with a pluss of 20 euro. We know for a fact that she pulled the same "trick" to other guest also. Speaking with the hotel public relation mannager- Michaelis , was usseles and our request to speak to the hotel mannager remaind unanswered. We traveled the world in the past thirty years, staying in the best hotels - NEVER were we treated this way. I suggest NOT to visit that hotel wich was a big dissapointment. It is definetly NOT a five star hotel by any standard!

Room Tip: None of the rooms will meet any reasonable expectation. Location is very bad!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to bring your feedback to our attention.

We are very sorry to note your dissatisfaction following your recent stay with us.

We understand that such a negative review was made out frustration and protest for the alleged incident with a member of our staff rather than an actual quality issue with the resort itself; after all the latter can be revealed by the majority of the reviews on Tripadvisor which are in direct contrast to what you are describing.

We would also like to clarify that when making a reservation in a hotel, that is ANY hotel around the world, requests as the ones mentioned in your review (main building, high floor etc) are not booked / confirmed and are always subject to availability. We are very surprised that you were not familiar with this given the fact that you are a world traveler with a thirty year experience in travel and feel sadden to note your dissatisfaction in this regard.

Your reservation was a last minute one made at the very peak of the season (15/08). When you arrived in the hotel you denied filling in the registration form and in fact denied having a look at the room initially allocated to you because your request of having a room at the main building was not honored. We then changed your room in a deluxe room in the main building which was also declined as it did not have straight sea view.

We can understand that for whatever reason you did not like the initial room allocated and as mentioned in your review our Front Office Manager was happy to help and provide some alternatives. As you can appreciate we are puzzled about your further comments in showing you some “crummy rooms” since all standard deluxe rooms are identical in Elysium. Having said that, we would like to stress that Elysium is considered to have amongst the best rooms, in both facilities and design and can only point you to other holidaymakers’ reviews on Tripadvisor to double verify that no one is complaining about the quality of the accommodation provided.

At this point please also note that when you book a room that you do not like, the hotel is not obligated to upgrade you for free especially when this is demanded in an inappropriate way.

According to our records, our Front Office Manager had suggested an upgrade to an Elite Superior Room at a cost of €80 which you accepted without any issues (you actually shook hands with our Front Office Manager and thanked them for the service provided). On the following day you called in our manager in the Elite Lounge complaining that this room is not worth the premium paid and then our Front Office manager suggested to offer you a Superior Deluxe that became available that day at a cost of 20 euro per day which was accepted again.

Kindly note that the hotel only has 18 Superior Deluxe rooms available that were all fully booked when the Elite Superior was suggested. Therefore we would like to dismiss your hypothesis of the hotel employing such tricks to make extra money as you have claimed.

Please also note that up-selling or upgrading at a cost is very common in the hotel industry and is always done with the consent of the guest; this is not a trick but a change of room of a higher value where you pay the price difference and as you might have noticed our other guests were perfectly happy with this option.
For nearly the rest of the week you appeared to be content and have a nice holiday without any problems what so ever including passing in front of the reception and greeting our staff with a smile. That was up to 2 days prior to your departure where you advised our Guest Relations Executive that you are not willing to pay the cost of the upgrade despite the fact that you had agreed with the charges before and actually stayed in the upgraded rooms.

The following day our Front Office Manager spoke to you and informed you that the upgrade charges will need to be paid as normal and as previously agreed. Without wishing to be unsympathetic or insulting as your review is, you called repeatedly our Front Office Manager a “Nazi” and shouted in the middle of the reception for the upgrade cost that you were once happy to pay in an effort to avoid the charges. Again as you can understand such a behavior restrains people from helping you further.

As for our Front Office Manager, we would like to add that she has an impressive experience and has worked in top International Hotel Chains and that we never had any complains addressed to her.

We are genuinely sorry to see that Elysium did not stood up to your expectations and that all people involved in helping rescue your holiday were characterized as useless. Having said that, we would also like to assure you that shouting in a hotel’s lobby to get a free upgrade and personally insulting staff members is not something that we are accustomed; at least in this part of the world.

We very much hope that you still had some enjoyment from your visit to Rhodes and you might consider visiting the destination again at another property.

Kind Regards,
Elysium Resort & Spa

Have just returned from a week at the Elysium Resort and Spa with my husband. What a hotel! It is superbly located, spotless, stylish... totally sumptuous! We stayed in the Elite Club and loved the little extras this afforded - the private lounge with its complimentary snacks, drinks and newspapers, the panorama from the top floor, where the buffet breakfast was a delight, etc etc. (And thank you for allowing us the luxury of a really late check-out, as our plane wasn't leaving til 10pm). The staff are friendly - in particular I would like to single out the concierge (Michalis?) and the delightful Lia in the Elite Club lounge - she readily provided a sympathetic shoulder to cry on after a distressing incident in the Old Town.

The swimming pool is wonderful - large and spotless - and what a complete joy to find a hotel where there is never a shortage of sun loungers!

There are only two ways in my mind that this gem of a hotel could improve - on the two occasions we ate in the Emerald restaurant we were disappointed by the quality of the hot food in the self-service buffet, whereas the cold starters and desserts were infinitely superior.

The second of my criticisms stems from the fact that, as a keen table tennis player, I was delighted to be told that table tennis bats and balls were available for hire at Reception.... but there is no table! This is a large enough hotel to make space for a couple of table tennis tables, surely? On the other hand, if you do end up providing them, I may well move in permanently!

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your recent stay at the Elysium Resort & Spa.

We are very happy to hear that you had an amazing holiday and that you found all aspects of our hotel to be of high standards.

Thank you also for highlighting the hotel’s Executive floors and privileges offered; we receive very positive comments in regards to our Elite Club and are very happy to see that your personal opinion is in line to what nearly all our guests are saying.

Rest assured that we will relay your praise to both, Mihalis and Lia who will be very happy and grateful to hear about the comments made.

Thank you also for the recommendations made; Elysium has attracted very positive reviews and scores in regards to its cuisine and feel sadden to note your dissatisfaction for the hot buffet. Although we do not have enough complains to suggest that there is an issue with the Emerald Main Restaurant we will forward your further comments to our Food & Beverage managers to investigate this issue further; once again thank you for sharing this with us.

As far as the second suggestion is concerned, please note that the resort does not advertise to have a table tennis table and there is no relevant equipment to hire either so we can only assume that a genuine misunderstanding has occurred where our staff was actually referring to tennis bats and balls.

On behalf of the management and staff we would like to warmly thank you for your review and very much hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back in our resort in the near future.

Best Regards,

I have just returned back having spent 11 nights at The Elysium Hotel and Spa Resort. I travelled witg my partner from England and this was our first holiday together. From start to finish it was fantastic.
We arrived late evening, after a 20 taxi transfer from the airport and check in was smooth, they explained everything from breakfast, pool towel hire, lifts, spa, supermarket etc and we received complimentary champagne which was a nice touch.
Our room was suitable for us, clean, with an amazing view of both the pool and sea which looked great during the day as well as at night. The room was cleaned daily and towels changed regularly.
Breakfast was great, so much to choose from and good quality too, same goes for the evening meals too. We were half board and rather satisfied. I did think the drinks were pricey but that is expected from a 5 star hotel.
The hotel itself was clean, stylish and grounds were well maintained too.
There was always enough sun loungers, pool was huge so was never over crowded.
Although the beach wasn't sandy it wasn't an issue, beautiful clean clear waters with great views. The pool and beach bars were nice, we enjoyed relaxing in the shade for an hour or two each afternoon.
The entertainment was low key but was enjoyable if you wanted a quiet chilled out evening.
The spa was a perfect place to relax. I had a re-balancing facial and my partner had a back massage. We felt revitalised afterwards and just chilled out in the jacuzzi, sauna etc... There was a lot of wasps by the spa pool though which prevented people from using it.
The location of the hotel is perfect, close to Faliraki for an upbeat wild party style of night out, or the Old Town in the opposite direction, bustling with shops, restaurants and bars with a great atmosphere near the harbour. The staff at the hotel were attentive, happy to arrange taxis for us or see to any other enquiries we had.
On top of this the weather was amazing! Our holiday rep was helpful and we booked a boat trip and spent a day at the local water park, both were great experiences and value for money.
I have so much more I could say about my fabulous time in Rhodes! I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family and would love to return next year! Thank you all for a lovely holiday!

this hotel is beautiful!! the stuff was extremely nice and very pleasant.
this hotel is huge but you won't feel it- it is really quiet , relaxing place. the hotel looks exactly like it shows in the official website. everything is clean. the pool has an amazing view to a beautiful private beach with clear warm water!
the room are spacious and their all have a view to the pool! I could keep with the compliment because this hotel truly worth it! I had a wonderful time!
one bad disadvantage - the wifi connection is awful!!!!!! you can only connect to the internet when you sit in the pool and even then the password is long and the internet is slow and sometimes disconnected. in the rooms there isn't any connection to the wifi - only if you bring a laptops.
