We had a rather positive first impression on arrival with champagne and a relatively warm welcome from reception and got told we had been given a free upgrade as they had double booked up all the rooms we had originally selected. When I got told this from the images I had seen online of a deluxe sea view room I had high hopes for what was waiting for us. Tea and coffee making facilities were the extra sense of luxury, for what was meant to be the peak of its class (5*) the room was very average, clean with a nice view but not wow. The Elite floor which we had been upgraded to had a lounge which I assumed as I not been told other wise I could go into and there were refreshments in there. On first entering this lounge the women at the desk was very quick to ask if we had been given an upgrade which we confirmed only to then be told that this perk of the package would not be something on offer to us, somewhat baffled I walked out embarrassed. Two days into the holiday we found our tour operator info file in the guest info room and it had written free use of Gym and one use of sauna per stay. I asked at reception if we would have to book it but then was told actually we cant use it as we didn't have that specified on our booking and to use ANY of the spa/sauna would cost a jaw dropping 20 Euros each! referred back to the document but as this was an error on our tour operators part they disregarded this being an issue and did not apologise or compromise, it seriously was laughable to think this was 5* service. He even had the cheek to say you have already been given a room upgrade but your still not happy, very cheeky.
When I took this up with the guest relation staff Michael, he was smug and defensive repeating what the guy on reception had said its not our fault and once again showed no sign of a goodwill offer. In the end I had to push for an answer of what they could do for us but he didn't want to give me one then and didn't get back to me the following day either I had to chase him down! to be told we could have a "heat experience voucher" which basically meant use of the sauna ect oh for 2 hours.......They really were stingy and still cant believe you had to pay for water at dinner yet they have it included at breakfast and champagne! inconsistent and frustrating.
I could not fault the waiters/cooks they were extremely friendly and the food overall was very very good, this place no doubt is impressive but need to learn some serious lessons in customer service.

Room Tip: main block, don't pay more for a sea view because most of them have one.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for your comments.
We must admit that your review is one of these rare instances where a fault by another party, in your case your Tour Operator, impacted negatively not only in your first impression about our hotel, but also on your behavior while being with us.
More specifically, as you also noted and accepted in your review, your Tour Operator informed you incorrectly that you were entitled to specific complimentary services. These services were supposed to be provided by another hotel and the info sheet was by their mistake included in our hotel’s info folder. We made at your disposal the relevant correspondence between our hotel and your Tour Operator as an evidence of this mistake from their part. For some reason you did not accept our justification and expressed your disagreement with inappropriate behaviour (shouting both in front of our reception desk and also at our Guest Relations Executive). As an evidence of your inappropriate behavior your partner did apologize in both cases. We will not further comment on your views as these are obviously prejudiced by this unfortunate incident.

Kind regards,
Elysium Resort & Spa

It's really one of the finest hotel in Greece/Rhodes - maybe in the complete southern european area!
After our first visit in 2013, we found its time to return to Elysium in 2014! Great accomodation, Extreme friendly & warm service - absolutely from EVERYONE (from the cleaning staff up to the managing team). Terrific sea view, great hospitality, clean & tidy building, silent and - no problems, no waste of time - fast service, big size rooms & beds - very good air condition in rooms!
The kitchen was great last year - but this year ist was simply terrific!
But without a good personnel and service staff this would only be the half challenge!
GREAT THANKS TO THE TEAM OF ELYSIUM (especially Evgenios, Michalis, Ernesta, Anastasia, Zerrin and all of the nice folks we didn't remember their names (but not their faces)!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH & WE'LL BE BACK!!

Me and my fiancé spent 7 nights here. We were upgraded to an elite superior double room with sea and pool view.
Having not visited Rhodes for quite some years with our friends and family we were pleasantly surprised to find our hotel was immaculate.
The pool was refreshing, deep and very large. The pool bar served a variety of lunch snacks, drinks and ice creams. It also played lots of great music throughout the day to add to the holiday feel.
Aqua, Zumba, Yoga, fully equipped air conditioned gym all available I really recommend aqua!
The beach is clean, tidy and if you walk 20mins you can visit Kalithea Springs a very nice bay, beautiful gardens and places to sit back relax and enjoy the view.
A short taxi for 8 euro will take you into Faliraki which has a great selection of modern bars. 5 euro a cocktail 2 euro a local beer. There is a horse and cart in the town too. A little train that's lit up at night and fish spas, shops for anything you could wish for. I recommend Chaplins bar by the beach area lit up with candles and they give you melon with your drinks.
We did venture to Rhodes old and new town, the yachts and boats are a sight to see too! The castle is beautifully lit by night and in the day the cobbled streets and pretty gardens really are stunning.
You can hire a car for 40 euro for a 12 hour hire and our friends recommended Lindos the hottest part of the island and should you desire a sandy beach. It is best to buy sea shoes/aqua socks from the hotel supermarket for the hotel beach as it is a nice and calm tide and ambience.
The supermarket is on reception level and sells absolutely everything; souvenirs, alcohol, bottles of wine 6 euro! We were greeted with champagne on arrival and had a bottle of wine waiting for us in the fridge.
I was so impressed with George our waiter most nights; friendly, attentive, helpful and even offered to take photos of us.
The spa is 20 euro to use all the facilities, the steam, sauna and salt room were amazing! The outdoor jacuzzi and jet pool equally brilliant. No time limit relaxed and sunbathed outside, dressing gowns and slippers provided.
We used the gym and it is very modern with TVs on equipment and towels water provided including a separate shower area should you need it too.
Taxi transfers were an added bonus.
The room was out of this world! Jacuzzi bath, robes, slippers, large balcony area, beautiful design, modern, the comfiest bed I have ever slept in.
Anastacia was very friendly on guest relations and helpful.
Free wifi also was excellent.
The quality and selection of food impeccable, we sat outside most evenings and you can even have bubbly with your breakfast.
Definitely a place I would highly recommend for anyone. You couldn't wish for a better stay.
The beach bar is great for lunch too. You can even hire a gazebo for the day.
Overall one of the nicest places I have had the pleasure of staying with the best customer service and friendliness.
I will hopefully have a chance to return in the not so distant future. Loved every minute.

we were there last weekend. we were upgraded to a junior suite in the main building. we had 2 bathrooms and a jaccuzi. a very big and nice bedroom. The hotel is very clean and quiet. Great for couples. less fro children or teenagers although they have all amenities. great for relaxation. the food is good, the staff are all very friendly and all speak english. the only problems that are quite minor:
the wifi works mainly in the lobby and in the pool/sea. also in our balcony in the main building.
the spa is very very expensive but the treatments are good.
המלון נפלא . באמת מאד נקי. כולם מאד אדיבים. הזמנו דרך האתר של המלון כך שגם הרווחנו צ'ופרים. שווה לנסות.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the hotel. The hotel itself is a fantastic building, elegant, new and immaculate. With the clean, well maintained beach just a stone throw away. The hotel staff are polite and friendly. Our main issues with this holiday were the food and the location.

The food is at best average dinner is a strange, part set menu part buffet which really didn't work. Not to mention the price! Be aware that everything in this hotel is expensive, despite being very mediocre.

Finally the location, we had never been to Rhodes before but had heard great things and I'm sorry to say we were bitterly disappointed. The old city at first glance looks very pretty, however look closer and you'll find litter strewn historical sights, beggars everywhere and you can't walk anywhere without being constantly harassed to go into each and every one of the hundreds of cafés and restaurants.

To sum up this holiday, thoroughly disappointing. The hotel is very nice but everything is overpriced and Rhodes itself is a real let down. Will not be recommending.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for your comments. We are glad that you liked our hotel’s architecture, the beach-front location and our staff. It is really unfortunate that you did not like our food, a characteristic rated usually as excellent. We can understand that the food is a truly subjective issue, but for the benefit of other readers of our review we need to state that our buffets include more than 50 different dishes for starters (hot and cold) and salads not including our desserts. In addition, on a daily basis here are three choices for main course: one meat, one fish, and a vegetarian option. The extreme majority of our guests always welcome this variety and quality. Prices are well below the corresponding prices in 5 star hotels throughout Europe, and our guests usually characterize them as a very good value for money given the variety and the quality.
As per your comments about the city of Rhodes please rest assured that what you may have experienced are rare incidents and do not reflect the overall situation in the city of Rhodes.

Kind regards,

Not long returned from this wonderful hotel after a 10 night stay. Hotel is absolutely spotless and is beautiful in every way. It's right on the beach, albeit stony but was very quiet and tranquil. We had no need to rush for sun beds, there were plenty for everyone on the beach or by the pool. All rooms have a sea view so you can't lose. Only criticism is the restaurant, very odd set up which doesn't really work starters and third course are off a menu and served to you and second and dessert were buffet style. Food was ok, not much choice, breakfast was by far the best. Drinks and food are very expensive here so be warned!!
Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble.
We visited rhodes town , bus stop right outside hotel and it's definitely worth a visit.
Entertainment was non existent , piano player every night so low key, hence bar was pretty empty most nights. Neighbouring hotel had lots of entertainment as we could hear it from our room!!!

My husband and I have never returned to any hotel we've been to because we were always concerned that it wouldn't live up to our expectations. We needn't have worried, if anything this time it seemed even better. The staff were wonderful friendly & really couldn't do enough. The food was great, with great choice & very good quality. Our room was fabulous (we upgraded as last time to the Elite Club) well worth the extra cost just to have breakfast on the rooftop, overlooking the sea! If you're looking for complete rejuvenation then this is the perfect relaxing break, we cant wait to go back!

Room Tip: Upgrade to Elite
