just returned from our forth visit to the rodos palladium and its still as good as ever.
having read earlier reviews i thought it may have gone down hill a little, but i think some people are just never going to be happy with any thing in life let alone a hotel . The hotel is fifteen mins from the airport, when you arrive you enter the hotel with large glass windows looking out over the sea in front of you, its beautiful, the staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried and check in when you have been before is just a matter of them handing you you room key.
The staff that are there year on year are just like extended family hi to Fani at the pool bar from thomas and lewis, and the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant nothing is to much trouble, our waiter Demitris was fantastic, knew if we needed anything instantly and couldn't be more helpful.
Taulin on the pool and beach crew always remember us and is lovely to have a chat to during the day a really nice guy.
The hotel must take great care in who they employ for the season because every one that we met there were really lovely, valentina and mirka on the animation team and luci at the bar were some of the nicest people you could ever meet.
As for the food i think that if you have the choice of buffet or from an a la cart menu, what more do you want, and as for people saying that there were chips and pasta every night on the buffet this is true, but being a family hotel i think these are for the children which is brilliant, never a problem feeding two fussy boys, and for the adults the variety of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes are amazing what do people want.
The hotel is spotless, the freeform pools are amazing and the sea is so clear and full of fish it just a paradise, ok it not sand its shingle but just buy some cheap swim shoes from the hotel shop.
over all we loved the holiday yet again and find that its really good value for money being a 5* hotel but if you do want a little more chic luxury book the eylisium that is part of the harmony resorts the same as the rodos palladium, just see if you think the price difference is worth it being almost next door?

The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The surrounding area isn't wheelchair friendly and not much to see on an evening stroll. The food wasn't 5* standard and mostly lukewarm to cold and very repetitive. The soup was hot one night out of seven and the 3 choices from the waiter service menu usually came out cold with a low quality of meat. The breakfast was plentiful with lots to choose from. Look out for the chef cooking the eggs, he turned cracking eggs into an art form.

I was aware the food standards had gone down from the beginning of this season but was told by Thomsons that it would be ok, unfortunately it wasn't ok. My mum had a plate of chips and a bread roll 2 nights of the holiday, not very good for a 5* hotel.

We took our 2 year old here for our first holiday abroad along with granny and grandad for a two week break. The hotel is very pleasant, spotlessly clean and nicely laid out. We had a twin room and cot with sea view, which was more than adequate and was cleaned daily. The room has all you need for a comfortable stay however the hairdryer in the bathroom leaves a little to be desired and gets very hot! Consider bringing your own. The hotel itself is very nicely laid out around a lovely freeform pool which seemed to stay quite quiet considering the hotel was full. The beach is sandy on the back part and more pebbly as you get towards the water- which is beautifully clean and clear but shoes are needed for swimming. The food is good. Breakfast is lovely, cooked, continental, greek - whatever your heart desires. The evening meal consists of a buffet - plenty to choose from but they also do 3 dishes from a menu - usually a meat dish, fish and vegetarian, so the idea is you have a buffet starter, choose your main from the menu and go back to the buffet for dessert. It was good quality food, but sometimes the wait was too long so you wished you had just had the buffet! The desserts are to die for. Tiny little intricate morsels, eclairs, mousses, jellies - just lovely! I have read reviews which say the food can be cold. I have to agree but it is more to do with the fact its laid out as a buffet. The food is always freshly cooked and they are constantly bringing out more plates. I would say that it is not the most child friendly hotel as the dinner service starts at 6.30pm there is no early sitting as stated in the Thomson brochure, however there are baby chairs etc. The cot was fine and the cleaners always made it comfortable for my little girl. All in all a nice break.

We stayed here for one week as part of our dual destination honeymoon. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the overall decor of the hotel and of our room which we found comfortable, well equipped and with a good view of both the pool area and the sea. We also received a complimentary bottle of fizz, which was a nice touch. The biggest issue upon checking in was the lack of information in the rooms about the hotel (dinner and breakfast times, restaurants, bars etc) and we were largely left to find out ourselves. Also as there were a number of people arriving at the same time we felt we were rushed through reception.

The pool area is very nice and the bar staff on the pool bar were very helpful. We started of the week paying cash for our drinks and food but it was not made easy for us to do this so in the end we put stuff on the room bill. We also spent a couple of days down at the beach snorkeling which was good fun and we found plenty of fish etc to watch.

We ate in the pool side restaurant at lunchtimes and largely found the food was good although the portion sizes were on the large size so stick to a single course for lunch! The only issue was on the last day when I ordered a beefburger which did not seem to be beef and was rather tastless! Stick to the Greek dishes on the menu.

The evening food was probably the biggest let down of the hotel. The mixture of the buffet and the menu did not seem to offer too much variety night from night and seemed to be variations of the same theme. It also seemed to be tailored to a more continental taste rather than english or Greek. As a previous reviewer has said the lack of greek dishes is disappointing

The evening entertainment is good although it does vary night to night the biggest issue trying to get hold of a drink from the bar. When the entertainment moves to the outside stage it will be much better.

For the price we paid we were happy with the hotel however looking on the hotels websites at the prices they quoted I would not be happy with the price paid for the service received. The drinks onsite were fairly expensive but it is to be expected onsite and there are plenty of options close by if required. We also didnt feel that we were made to feel as welcome as the other nationalities however apparently a large English group had caused some trouble a few weeks earlier possibly tarnishing our image.

If they could sort out the issues with the food and make us feel a bit more welcome then we wouldnt hesitate to return but until those issues are sorted we would struggle to recommend it to someone else. Fortunately I wouldn't consider it difficult to fix the issues.
