“Awesome Instructor- so much fun!”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

Pablo is a fabulous surf instructor. He is great at teaching and coaching as you are on the water so you get a lot of time to practice. I was with my husband and two brothers in law and they were all much stronger swimmers than me. Pablo got them started and then was very patient with me in the shallower water while they continued to practice. He really is great for any skill level. We had all heard that surfing for the first time can be frustrating, but we had a great time and were far more successful than we expected, all thanks to Pablo!

“Great Instructor, amazing time”
Reviewed 13 March 2014

This guy knows his stuff, took a surfing lesson last Sunday and it was wonderful.
His instructions were very clear, and once we were on the water, he kept teaching me how to improve. I had an awesome time and highly highly recommend Pablo no matter what skill level you are at.

“Amazing!!”

Pablo is a huge help when it comes to learning how to surf. Whether you are a complete beginner or experienced, Pablo has some great tips and pointers that get you on the right path. I was in a group with two ladies and an older man. I am an experienced surfer (17 years old) while the two ladies and man were complete beginners. I am able to paddle out and catch my own waves so I would go out farther than the group and surf back in to where Pablo was standing. He would immediately tell me what I did right and what I did wrong. This included my posture, my foot position, the way I was turning. He definitely knows what he is talking about. He has been surfing for his entire life and his brother is actually a professional.

He was also able to teach the older women I was with to actually stand up once and keep in mind this lady was probably 60 years old.

He is extremely kind and very trustworthy. He has a security guard watching his van where you can leave your phone or wallet.

The beach seems crowded at first, but it is very easy to find areas where it isn't.

I had an awesome time and highly highly recommend Pablo no matter what skill level you are at. He is very reasonably priced as well. It cost 45$ for 2 hours. Which is plenty of time

“Exceeded Expectations”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

My husband and I took surfing lessons with Pablo early last week on our vacation in the Guanacaste area. Pablo was courteous and professional and he was incredibly patient, which was exactly what we needed as first time surfers. Pablo arrived at our hotel at 9am to pick us up and drive us into Tamarindo for our lesson. He was on time and explained to us what our lesson would be like on the drive to the beach. Once at the beach, we did a quick 15 minute lesson on the sand practicing standing up on our boards and then it was straight into the water. My husband and I were both able to stand up on our boards very early into the lesson and we have Pablo to thank for that.
I thought perhaps we would be joined by others learning to surf but to my surprise, my husband and I were Pablo's only clients that morning so it was excellent having a private teacher. I am under the assumption that Pablo only does private surf lessons but I could be wrong.
I also really liked that Pablo carried a waterproof camera with him so during the lesson he will take photos of you in the water and as you're "surfing" or attempting to surf ;) He emailed us our pictures within the same week so we were able to see our surf pictures even before we had left Costa Rica. It was a really nice added touch!
We fully enjoyed our surf lesson and we look forward to going back to Costa Rica and trying surfing once again!

“Pablo is awesome!”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

My sisters and I took surf lessons with Pablo. It was my first time and I think each of my sisters had tried it once. He picked us up at our hotel and took us to a beautiful beach outside of Tamarindo. He was extremely patient, attentive and safe. He held onto our boards until it was time to go and then he would say, "Get up, get up!" So, he helps you find the timing and keeps you safe in the water. After we finished up, he offered to show us the town of Tamarindo and Brasilito, which were both awesome. I recommend him highly for a great time with someone who is teaching his passion.
