“Great 2 night stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Stayed on B n B basis for 2nights - room large and well equipped with everything you would need - large bathroom with bath and shower -small TV, nice tea making etc , very clean and tidy , WIFI can be a problem however across Dartmoor will be so! , you can log on if you need to downstairs at reception.
Breakfasts were excellent , great choice of English and cereals /fruit -all brought to you including toast and hot drinks - the staff service throughout the pub/restaurant/ hotel was fantastic and clearly very well trained in highest standards.
We chose to eat in the restaurant one evening - the food is 1st class and of fine dining standards - we will certainly dine again and stop over. Booking likely for the restaurant as very popular.
A great location and super value for money for a nice weekend away.

Well situated on the river Dart this inn is ideal for getting around, very close to the steam railway that goes from buckfastleigh to totnes. We were in room 5 with a view over the garden, bed comfortable, and the shower is great. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the food in the evening excellent, staff very friendly and always read to help.

We have stayed here on previous occasions years ago and love this place - having not been for 3 years we had the chance to return in August this year and it was as wonderfully relaxing and full of charm as ever. Great attention paid is paid to detail and for guests comfort - the accommodation is spotless, large comfy beds, crispy white towels and linen and beautifully furnished rooms. Breakfasts were excellent with a good choice and the meals that we had in the restaurant in the evenings were first class. The memory of an absolutely superb basil and lemon posset desert will stay with me for a long time! Jason and Sam the proprietors are always attentive and friendly - lovely people. Couldn't ask for nicer place to stay in this area or friendlier staff - fantastic! We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: The Annex suite has it's own sitting room and large bathroom and is self contained.

We stumbled across this country pub on a last minute search for accommodation in the area. Relying on the reviews and photos I had high expectations, which were in no way left wanting.

The staff were fantastically friendly and warm, nothing too much trouble, and the service felt personal and genuine.

The room was great, bathroom and shower I was especially impressed with.
The pub is located in a stunning country setting, beautifully quiet, we wandered down to the bridge over the river and enjoyed the views.

We ate in the restaurant on a Saturday night and although they warned us it would be busy, service was excellent, we both enjoyed a fantastic steak. The puddings were nothing short of perfect, the quality was once again very good.

Breakfast was once again faultless, lovely choice, great quality,

Enjoyed the stay so much I would definitely go back.

A great place, tasty food and a very comfortable room. The bed was fantastic and the shower definitely energised me. Too many hotels and B&B's fail on the shower front thinking that a dribble of water will satisfy. Thankfully the Sea Trout Inn have paid a lot of attention in getting their shower and bathrooms just right.

There's a great restaurant and bar downstairs with a beer garden. In the morning breakfast is served in the conservatory which is a lovely way to wake up.

I will definitely stay again, loved it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden, might be just me but I think their nicer and a bit roomier.

A country pub in seriously beautiful countryside. Friendly staff and a real local ales. The restaurant serves great food and the breakfast will give you a great start to the day. The refurbed rooms still keep some of the features of the 18 the century, sloping floors and creaking floorboards. A lovely overnight stay in a place with so much more to explore.

As the title suggests , cant find anything to moan about. The food was superb, the beer very good, and extremely good value for money. More than ample carparking and a nice seating area outside. Will definitely return .
