Arrived here very flustered after a bad experience in another town. What a joy to open the curtains in our apartment and see that breathtaking view! The lovely Eva could not have looked after us any better. Felt more like staying with a friend. Would be very comfortable to come again as a single traveller
Choose the right room for your needs; not all rooms have kitchen so read the room descriptions so you get what you expect. Rooms clean and comfortable. If you want 5 star room then head to Airlie and pay the 5 star prices
This is not the place to stay if you do not have your own transport. It is a 10 minute drive to Airlie and you will need to get everything you need from there. Shute Harbour is the leaving point for some cruise tours but there is nothing else in the area. The cafe / restaurant at the lodge is not open and unlikely to be in the short term. Check about wifi ; I don't think this is still available.
I think the website photos need to be updated as they don't do the views justice based on the rooms I saw
Pity this place isn't listed under Airlie Beach searches as it deserves to be busier than it is. That said I would prefer this place to remain a well kept secret!

Room Tip: Room 11; 3 bedroom great views. Good for family as sleeps up to 6. Stayed here with friend Room 9...

The refurbished room was lovely - good kitchen facilities. But not as private as hoped for from the description, and was located under where the owners/managers lived I think, as you could hear them moving around through the thin ceiling and playing piano. Not so great when you wanted a sleep in and they were getting ready for the day at 6:30am.
I had also thought from the descriptions that there were several lovely walks leading to beaches that were much closer by. There was one fairly close by, but still a walk away up the road, leading to a secluded coral beach, but not very swimmable.
I think if you made a booking with this knowledge in advance, then it would be okay.

I love the Lodge and Managers so much I have been going there for fifteen years ! Don't know whether it's the quiet , the views , the walks or the friendly managers. Could be the fact it's surrounded by National and Marine Parks. To me, it is the best combination possible of mountain and sea coming together . There have been ongoing upgrades to the units ,it is clean, comfortable and friendly, and the views are better than the Postcards .
I just wish I could get there more than once a year.

We didn't realise until we got to Mackay that schoolies week was on in Airlie Beach right when we were going, so we drove up there with some trepidation, and then kept driving, and kept driving, and finally, right at the end of the road, we got to our quiet, peaceful, prefect accommodation in Shute Harbour. We arrived at about 830, so it was dark, and when we got up in the morning we were greeted by the most incredible view over the water and the Whitsunday islands.

Rooms are clean and quiet, and perfect for a couple. You do need a car though - it will be much more convenient and means you can explore the area at your own pace. We booked a tour through the hotel on the "Camira" - which was fabulous - I'd highly recommend it. The next day we did a half day kayak in Shute Harbour (right in front of the hotel) which was also great fun. Both tours offered pick ups but since the kayaking was only down the hill we just drove down there ourselves.

The restaurant was under renovation, and so we didn't try the food, but seeing as it was the end of a 5 week holiday we were happy to just buy our own food as it was cheaper. We didn't have a kitchenette but it was easy enought to prepare food without one.

We booked for 3 nights and stayed an extra night because it was so nice.

Room Tip: Hire a car, there is free parking underneath your room, and you'll be able to get around easier.

We were staying at Coral Point Lodge for 2 weeks and it was great. You can really relax from all the hustle of the citys because it is a little outside of town on a hill.
The views are just amazing and breath taking. You can relax by the pool area or on your balcony and see the harbour, boats, national park and the blue ocean!! To us the view was like a calender page...just like paradise. It is so pretty out there.
Our room was very modern, clean and we felt very comfortable in it. During our stay we walked through the very close national parks and spend some time on the beaches. It is definitely worth a stay!!

Room Tip: Or room was called Ocean Breeze Getaway...It has a kitchenette and is very pretty!

Just been up there for three nights, had a great time with great view of the harbour.

Two themes from previous posts continue

Firstly, the manager wasn't there and the elderly neibours were looking after the place. They were good though, seemed to know the run of the place. Didn't seem to be there first time.

Secondly, the cafe/bar/meals area is still under refurbishment. Some else refered to this in April last year. There area itself looks fine. Ready to go. Just a few random pieces of timber lying around. No tools. No dust. No noise. So its either a very long reno. Or just a part of the business they no longer could be bothered with. I'm keen to return next year and see how the reno's coming along

We stayed here one week, in the Executive Self contained studio. We really enjoyed our studio, plenty of space for 2 people, nice full equiped kitchinette with a large fridge! Parking possibility right next to the appartement, nice private ground floor terrasse. Fantastic views everywere at the lodge. Coral Point Lodge is a great place to stay, especially for longer stays, because you can really relax on your terrasse, at the swimming pool,...

The lodge is very close to conway national park (walk trails accessible by foot from the hotel), close to the harbour (departure ferries to the withsundays islands) and is about 10 minutes drive from Airlie Beach where you will enjoy the big free public lagoon (swimming pool).

Brian and Eva, the owners, were very kind and provided us very good excursion/sightseeing ideas.

Room Tip: Fantastic quite modern studios and appartements
