“A wonderful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2012

We stayed Aug 1st x 3 nights, this was a birthday treat for my Partner and I was anxious that it would live up to the reviews I'd read but I didn't need to be worried because everything about this place is wonderful - from the beautifullocation to the exquisite rooms and not forgetting Sylvia and David - the perfect hosts. We stayed in the Lindley room, it was lovely, exceptionally clean and well appointed and we really appreciated the little extra luxuries provided from the cleansing wipes in the bathroom cabinet to the shoe shine kits in the bedside tables and the chocolate left lying around at every opportunity! Even after all this we were given a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine for my partners birthday - Perfect! Sylvia was wonderful and arranged dinner and a taxi for us in nearby Ironbridge almost before we had unpacked, the restaurant she recommended was amazing. And this was all before we had encountered breakfast which was of ginormous proportions - as big as David's personality!! I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful B&B to everyone.... except that a little part of me wants to keep it a secret from the rest of the world! If ever there was a formula for the perfect B&B this has to be it - Well done David and Sylvia!

Room Tip: go on the website and choose your own room, they are all wonderful but all have individual character...

My wife and I stayed at the Old Rectory for 2nights at the end of July 2012.
It was our silver wedding anniversary and I chose the Rectory based on reviews and it did not disappoint at all,we were met at the front door with a smile and shown to our room, the room was wonderful(Lindley) four poster bed,the slipper bath was so nice, lots of nice little touches all over the room, Champagne, roses and chocs in room as requested, breakfast was Yummy and so much of it with lots of choice, sets you up for the day.Nothing was to much trouble, this place really is wonderful, make it your special treat if you are in the area, thank you David for making our Silver Anniversary so special we will most certainly return.

Room Tip: A great base to get out and see the area,Ironbridge just up the road,Ludlow,Shrewsbury 20mins drive...

Stayed at this lovely Guest House for 3 nights in The Ludlow room. The room is large with a 4 poster bed (very comfy) and a seatee as well. The bathroom contained a huge 2 meter spa bath easilily big enough for two. The decor is very tasteful and spotlessly clean. The cooked breakfast is excellent and huge and certainly sets you up for the day. David the host goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need and is very welcoming to The Old Rectory.

Room Tip: Ludlow Room was lovely and gets the afternoon sun, its also downstairs which maybe helpful for some...

stayed for two nights in june - wrekin room, very romantic room, nice selection of tea coffee and chocolate to drink in room. mattress though was too soft for us. very clean, shower decent size, but water pressure tempremental! (A notice in the shower area does warn you about this). Good full english breakfast, nicely presented, personally i would have liked the option of fresh fruit and fresh pastries! Only saw the owner at breakfast, and only knew who he was as we had stayed here previously, would stay again.

My parents and I stayed at this B&B and received a fantastic welcome. Funny and warm. The two rooms we stayed in were gorgeous, well fitted out and everything you could need. Breakfast was gorgeous and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all fantastic. I would definitely come back!

This hotel was booked as a present for my b.day. What a fabulous birthday present. The host david met us on the carpark with brollies as the weather was awful, the hospitality continued throughout our stay! Wine for myself and a hearty shropshire ale for my partner was delieverd to our room with compliments on the 1st nite. Our room was beyond opulunce.... roll top victorian bath in the room itself!!!! cheeky, fun and so romantic! lol I have stayed in some very lovelly hotels due to my partners job but this has got to be one of the most luxurious, romantic and beautiful B+Bs we have visited. The weather over the weekend was very wet and miserable, but stil visited most of shropshire , arrived back to our room and placed on the massive luxury bed was a lovelly box of choccies..... bliss, small things like this really make a hotel and the visit.. bottle of wine and choccies whilst soaking in a lovelly warm bubble bath in a victorian roll top bath was heavin! May have been thunderstorms outside but it was paradise and romance in our room! Cant thank david and his assistant enough. Breakfast was a hearty full english that has set us up on both days. We will never be able to recommend this hotel enough and will definetly be returning and will be recommending this for family and friends. Oppulunce and luxury at a very reasonable price. It was the small things presented to us that also made this weekend away the best. Thankyou david and staff. Fantastic !!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms appeared to be as beautiful as each other.
