Location of this hotel is good and the surroundings are lovely, we were checked in by an extremely pleasant receptionist - all good so far.
There was a wedding on, so understandably the hotel was busy and so when we tried to go to the restaurant it was fully booked, this was fine and we were told we could eat in the bar. We ordered a starter and main course, all were delivered at the same time - we were hungry but not that hungry! After a little persuasion the waitress took our main meals back to the kitchen.
On arriving at breakfast the next morning, the staff obviously couldn't cope with the amount of people we were told there were no free tables and would have to wait, much to our surprise as we could see at least 10 empty tables. breakfast was poor - what was there was cold.
This hotel also allows people to bring their dogs - be aware of this when booking as we were woken at 3am by a dog barking in the next room.
In summary this could be a lovely hotel , however they cannot cope when fully booked and food and drink is on the expensive side. Not a relaxing break I'm afraid.More
