Absolutely awful weekend from start to finish! Arrived at the hotel afternoon of Friday 4th October. Checked in and given basic/general hotel info - we were booked in on two nights dbb rate but not given any info on the dinner allowance etc. reception staff were pleasant but went down hill from there! Our reservation for dinner was at eight in the restaurant however we were ready to leave the bar by twenty to as it was full of wedding party guests so were given our table early in the restaurant - our starters came out so quickly you would think that mystic meg worked in the kitchen and knew what we were going to order but we then waited over an hour for our main meals - as did four other couples in the vicinity! It was like an episode of faulty towers! We allowed this on the first night due to the wedding and a booking of 50 for a family reunion putting it down to the fact that they were over stretched - the staff seemed to work really hard and the manager swanned around not actually doing anything to ease the situation. The food was awful quality and really not worth the wait. Breakfast was just as poor the first morning. Before our second dinner in the restaurant which we were not looking forward to, we visited the leisure club. Used the gym facilities which were good and also the pool, steam room and jacuzzi. My wife slipped on the step entering the jacuzzi and caught the bottom of her foot on a jet in there which ripped off a chunk of her skin at least the size of a twenty pence piece. There was a lot of blood due to the water and no one around to help so she had to walk to the changing rooms leaving a trail of blood in the pool area and changing rooms. Once dressed we went to the main hotel reception to report this as there was no one else around at all. My wife was given three plasters and the receptionist took our room no. It was Shambolic to say the least. Dinner the second night was just as horrendous: we had just finished our starters and were asked if we wanted to order our desserts now!? We couldn't wait to leave! Was an absolute shame that the organisation and service of this hotel have made it the worst experience we have had as we visit numerous hotels and generally enjoy a majority of star ratings/ experiences but this was like a concentration camp. We had to ask for tea and coffee at breakfast the next day, had to ask for bread to use the toaster; principal Hayley really need to look into this as a matter of urgency! When checking out my wife asked about putting the in the jacuzzi into an accident book; she was told that this would be done at her request but was not necessary. She was also told that we owed for two glasses of wine on our bill however we had paid for our drinks (beer & martini) at the bar both nights so did not charge any items to the room at all. When she explained this she was told that the charge was in fact not even for a date that we had been staying at the hotel?!

After a couple of disappointing 1 night dinner B and B stops at other hotels this was a gem of a place to find. Nice room with friendly staff. The food was outstanding however both the dinner and the breakfast were out of this world. Very happy bunnies.

Stayed here for a 2 day conference, good facilities and lovely food. Staff were very friendly and helpful, although the maitre d' was rather over zealous/agressive in his busyness to serve a large group and I felt that my dinner was thrown at me! My room had everything I needed and was comfortable although lighting could have been brighter and the blind did not reach the bottom of the window.
