Stayed at this hotel on our first night in the UK. We had a good sleep and the room was very comfortable. Easy to use WiFi hookup. Grounds were lovely and enjoyed a couple of walks in around the area. Rec. facilities looked good but we didn't get a chance to use them. Staff was great and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again.

I've just returned from a work conference held at this hotel and have to say that, as conference venues go, this one does the business and does it well - the room was clean, spacious and well set up for business use with free in-room wifi and dedicated desk space (as opposed to a desk also trying to be a dressing table or something to put the tea/coffee tray on). The food was very good, the staff were all professional and attentive and are obviously very used to handling large-scale events, the hotel facilities were very good and the location (just off the M4 or a short taxi ride from Swindon station) is excellent in terms of ease to get to. It's not really the type of hotel I'd stay in for a holiday just because it's not really a 'pretty' hotel, has quite a 'corporate' feel to it, and the room lacked a few things that I think it's nice to have when you're away on holiday such as a fridge stocked with water and biscuits to go with the tea/coffee. That's just down to personal preference though, and I'd recommend the place to anyone looking for a base to stay in whilst in the area or wanting to hold an event somewhere.

After scouring the Swindon list of hotels for a night's stay on11/09/10, I came across this hotel with reasonable write-ups. My wife and I went on to spend the night there and were very pleased we did. The location is rural and quiet but it is still easy to get into Swindon or Marlborough. Desk staff were helpful and efficient but did not ask about helping with luggage to our room which was some distance from the desk. An offer of a trolly would have been useful.
We successfully negotiated a room change to twin from double with little fuss and liked the room which did include a desk, safe, free wifi (really useful) but no fridge. No glasses provided and one of the thin clear plastic tumblers in the bathroom was cracked and unusable. So probably worth bringing your own glasses if you are bringing your drink!
The hotel is new, clean, spacious and as we already know ,quiet at weekends except for the wedding parties. There is no competition for use of gym equipment, few using the pool or spa and the breakfast is civilised with a good choice of tables available at 8:15am and well cooked and presented buffet on offer. Service is discrete and efficient.
I ran the Salisbury 10K road race the next day and this venue provided huge expanses of land surrounding the hotel which was ideal for my last minute training. I can now see why visiting teams use this place prior to a match on Saturday.
All-in-all very good value for money indeed since there are some cheap deals available via the usual websites. So this place comes strongly recommended (with only a few minor hiccups) and one to which I shall return when next in the area. Hope all this helps!

Don't rely on Satnav to get you here - postcode simply isn't recognised! Look for the yellow signs for the Alexandra Park housing development and you'll have a much less stressful journey around the country lanes from the motorway junction. Can't really fault the hotel for what it is, which is a conference centre. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend on a 'ramblers break' which meant we got a packed lunch as an extra - it was well put together and more than sufficient to keep us going whilst out on adventures. It's well placed for shopping at Swindon / Marlborough and exploring the stones at Avebury. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff charming and helpful, the food was delicious - plenty of choice at breakfast to set you up for the day. We used the pool to ease aching muscles after a long walk and it was just the tonic needed. I was amazed that the hotel was so quiet given that it was a bank holiday and they'd had a wedding the day before. If you want a base for exploring Wiltshire then this is more than adequate, look out for bargain break offers on laterooms and lastminute.

We booked this hotel for its good location and leisure facilities. The place was practically dead. Room was nice but had little amenities. The bar was poor and no staff were manning it. The restaurant food was very average and the service slow so we left. The breakfast selection was good but most of the food was gone when we arrived at 9am despite serving until 10. We waited in a queue for over 15mins before we were seated even though the restaurant wasnt very busy. We had to keep asking for replenishment. The tea eventually came but we had almost finished, and then found it to have limescale in the water! Overall we weren't impressed at all and wouldn't return. On a plus note the staff were very helpful and friendly.

the rooms where very spacious complete with a dest and free wi-fi.
The 3 couse evening buffet was good with something for everybody that is except for my fussy eater of a son. Nothing was too much trouble they even made him his own pizza!
Breakfast buffet was good with a lot of choice.
the staff where fantastic from checking in to checking out.
Very good value for money and would stay here again.
