Great as always

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 1 May 2024
As always we love to visit here. Food is always great and whisky bar is really good. My only comment would be that it states 1000 whiskies. I could be wrong but the Quaich whiskies available don't look to have changed much over the years we've been going, and looks to be hundreds short of the 1000. Just my opinions though. Apart from that great as usual.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the distilleries! Fantastic breakfast provided and beautiful whiskey bar! Very knowledgeable bartender. Beautiful countryside and a great bar and restaurant on site. The towel heater was wonderful.

To say our stay was memorable would be an understatement. This was a one and a life time kind of experience, although we would love to revisit, there's nothing quite like a first impression and experience. Rebecca our host was welcoming and very attentive to our needs. It was a fairytale town with just the right amount of charm and having the opportunity to stay at Craigellachie facilitated a truly unforgettable visit to Scotland that my wife and I will cherish forever. Slainte!

We had a lovely few days at this hotel. Staff was kind and accommodating. Our room was absolutely lovely. We especially enjoyed the whisky left in our room every evening. Meals were very nice as well.

Many Scottish Country Town hotels just don't quite carry it off. The sheer cost of upgrading them to the 20th never mind the 21st century is daunting.
This one nearly carries it off, although the price is steep for what you get. The entrance hall area has you doubting as do the corridors but the bedrooms have been upgraded to a reasonable standard. It does however have some issues like no tissues and a Roberts radio that will only tune to one random station.
Breakfast was excellent but don't waste your money on the restaurant.

A gem in the heart of Speyside. Revisited the Craig after 20 years to see what had changed. What hasn’t? The whole hotel has been refurbished around 10 years ago, the design has been refreshed, the rooms are spacious and modern, however they’ve kept their charm of the past. One small disappointment was the whisky bar no longer being in the corner of the hotel. This was iconic in so far as the bar was surrounded by shelves of whisky on every wall, never been anywhere like it since. Unfortunately it’s now moved along the hall, and whilst having a large selection of whiskies and a knowledgable barman, it’s not quite the same.
However this shouldn’t detract from the whole ambience of the hotel. Just go you’ll love it.
