We really liked the Almond Tree. We received a friendly reception. The room and shower room were both spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was at least kingsize and comfortable. On a very cold m
November night the room was warm and welcoming. When we got home late, there was a friendly person to see us in.The breakfast was one of the best continental breakfasts we have encountered anywhere. Assorted cooked meats, cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, eggs cooked to order, fruit juice. But best of all, the lightest croissants I have ever had (including in France) Great value for money. £65 for a double room including this super breakfast which set us up for the day. We shall certainly look forward to staying here again.

Upon our arrival, the receptionist was extremely grumpy and almost seemed like she was annoyed at us for distracting her from browsing facebook (the reception is open 24 hrs and the hotel was very quiet during our visit). When we got into our room, the bathroom stuck of cigarette smoke, despite the hotel clearly being a non-smoking hotel. I complained about this to the receptionist who remarked that the previous occupier "was a professional" (as if this meant he didn't smoke) and "checked out at 6am, and the cleaners had cleaned it by 7am". I can't verify if this was true, but for whatever reason, the room just stunk. Despite the hotel being nearly empty, the receptionist refused to allow us to change rooms and didn't apologise for the smell.

The skirt-material around the bed was stained and the bed-frame itself must have been the cheapest one available in Ikea due to its flimsiness.

The breakfast was a 'buffet', complete with stale mdf-textured bread (dated 3 days out of date and nearly rock-solid), very stale croissants, and overly hard-boiled eggs with a black yolk bearing the consistency of a car tyre.

The price had also gone up by £5 since booking, with the receptionist refusing to honour the original price booked online simply giving the response "you can cancel your reservation free-of-charge since the price has gone up, but you do need to pay the current price if you wish to stay with us".

We booked into the Almond Tree to attend a family function in Bicester. The hotel is situated on the edge of a fairly new industrial estate but this was no issue as we were there on a Saturday, even if not I doubt it would have any effect. The hotel offers basic but clean and modern facilities. The Bedroom was compact but clean and functional and the bed linen was sparkling. Breakfast was continental and more than ample. The hotel is about 15 walk from the centre of town and close to Bicester Village. Comparing other budget hotels, even big names this compares favourable and you get breakfast thrown in. The welcome was genuine and the morning staff more than accommodating. We would happily stay here again and recommend it.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 16 at the side of the hotel.

We stayed here when visiting relations in Bicester. It looks like an industrial unit from outside, but it is friendly and clean if basic. It was only £65 for a double room with breakfast, so served our purpose well and I would stay here again. The room was good, the bathroom looked new, it had everything we needed. The breakfast was basic, cereals, toast and fruit. There was plenty of room to park. No complaints.

If you read my other review you'll see how I ended up staying here even though I didn't chose it myself.

Well, as I've said in my previous posting, this place was a pleasant surprise. Thye area isn't particularly inspiring but it's just a few minutes walk from the town centre so no problems getting out for a drink and a meal without having to drive.

The welcome we received was warm and friendly. We were in a room on the top floor, it wasn't huge but had everything we needed for a one night stay and was spotlessly clean. Being on an industrial estate on a Saturday night, the place was really quiet which was a blessing given that me and my partner had an early start for the Grand Prix the next day.

I was delighted to find that the hotel were putting on an early buffet breakfast the next morning for guests that need to leave early and this was available from 6am. The choice was continental, but perfect - nice fruit juices, tea and coffee, warm, crisp rolls and croissants, preserves, cheese, cold meats, yogurts. We could have toasted our own bread too if we wished and left the table fuelled up for our day ahead.

All in all, I couldn't fault this place. It's not the type of hotel you'd probably want to stay for a romantic weekend but for a stopover or business, it's fantastic and great value for money.

Wel done Almond Tree Hotel, you knock spots off the place I should have been staying.

We stayed here for two nights as we were attending a wedding at the Tythe Barn. We ended up booking a second room for my parents to babysit our young baby whilst we attended the wedding.

The Almond Tree Hotel is only one mile away from the Tythe Barn and less than 5 minutes drive so the location was perfect (it is in the middle of nowhere otherwise!). An old-fashioned looking building outside leads to the pleasant surprise of finding a recently decorated clean, airy hotel with incredibly helpful reception staff.

The rooms were light, spotlessly clean and provided tea & coffee making facilities, TV, and a large fan unit placed in the room as the weather was warm. On ringing down to reception we were brought up iron/ironing board within minutes and offered the use of a hairdryer if required. The bathroom in our room was large, very clean and had a beautifully hot and nicely powerful shower.

The breakfast was a good selection of meat, cheese, croissants, eggs and fruit replaced regularly as we ate. On our request we were allowed to check in early, eat breakfast late, give my breakfast to my Dad (!) and store expressed breast milk in their fridge. We were offered a cot for our room, help with bags and anything else they could do to help us with our young baby. It did not look the kind of building to have a lift so we were pleasantly surprised at how good the access was for our pram.

On returning late and a little worse for wear from the wedding, we managed to lose our camera. The following morning the receptionist informed us that they had rescued it from the ground in the hotel car park where we had dropped it and returned it to us safe and sound.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at this hotel - I have seen far inferior service at many much more expensive hotels. The Almond Tree provides very good value for money at £65 for the two of us plus our baby. I would not hesitate to recommend them if you need clean basic accommodation near to the Tythe Barn.

We had trouble finding any accommodation in the area at short notice, so ended up at this hotel. As some have said, not a great location (it's on some sort of industrial estate, on the edge of the town), but not rough or anything like that. Looks like a converted office building. Clean and adequate, friendly staff who offered us the use of the dining room and brought us plates, glasses, cutlery so that we could eat our (late) Indian takeaway that we ordered from their recommended restaurant a short distance a way. Very hard beds. Rooms adequate if a little spartan. Wouldn't stay there again unless I had trouble finding something better, but it wasn't actually BAD in any way, just a bit of an odd building in an odd location!
