We used Villandry for lunch whilst meeting up with our friends at Bicester Village. On the day we visited the village, we noted that there's not a huge choice of places to eat; Villandry seemed about the best from a small choice.
My partner, myself and our two friends all enjoyed our meals, the waitress who served us was very polite, pleasant and gave us a good level of service. The food was hot and fresh, and arrived in good time. I had the chicken and mushroom pizza with pesto (£11.95) which was well cooked and tasty. I had the pear crumble for pudding (£5) which again was very nice, with a zing to it! My partner had the cajun cream chicken linguine and he says it was delicious.
Overall, the food and atmosphere in the place was very good, we didn't feel rushed by the staff, even though there was a long queue forming to get in, almost out the door! The final bill was around £86 which we found a little on the expensive side, but as I mentioned it has very little competition so I guess it can pretty much charge what it likes.
It's clean, bright and airy inside and we enjoyed it, particularly as a treat as we were meeting up with friends we hadn't seen in a while; however if we were to return to Bicester Village, I'm not sure we'd look to go back to Villandry, perhaps give some of the other few eateries a try instead.
