After nearly 2 weeks driving around the whole of Italy searching for a quiet, traditional village and to meet 'real' Italians, we came across Carlos' place on the Agri Toursimo website purely by chance by searching for a small place in southern Tuscany. Thank goodness we found it. Yes, the road from the village to the farm is a track road, but this added to the charm and experience. It is not a hinderance at all. The dogs are wonderful, very well behaved and welcoming. Proper farm dogs. Carlos was a great host and very informative. He explained lots about the traditions of the area, and of agritourismo in general. He is passionate about his beautiful farm and the future of the pituresque village of Pari. It may not be on your map, but PLEASE come here. It is perfect, exactly what we were looking for. Great walks, stunning scenery and in addition some sulphur springs to relax in very nearby. There are a couple of great restaurants in Pari too. We enjoyed both Carlos' cooking and the restaurants. In particluar the farm's home-grown Quince and Mulberry fruits. Fabulous.
A lot of thought and pride have gone into this small working farm. We had the pleasure of an Italian family get-together during our stay which made us feel so welcome and added to our Italian experience and made it very special. We can't recommend Podere Vignali highly enough. We feel we found the 'real' Italy we were looking for. Thanks Carlos. Jackie and Willy - Scotland
