We stopped here for a meal and were just expecting the usual pub grub but we were so pleasantly surprised, the staff could not be more friendly and welcoming and the food was fantastic, I has the sea bream which was cooked to perfection and even the vegetable were yummy, not your usual over boiled frozen rubbish. My fiancé had the ribs which were again delicious. Highly recommend this place. Thank you :)

Went for evening meal as family of four. Nice dining room, really friendly, helpful service and excellent food.
The food is freshly cooked and all delicious. We had starters and a main absolutely no room for a pudding! Our party included two teenage boys with very healthy appetites and only one could actually finish the main. That's the only thing I would say - perhaps slightly smaller portions would be good and then you could do the three courses if desired.
Very reasonably priced I think we paid around £100 for 2 courses each and 2 rounds of drinks.
Will definitely return especially when feeling v hungry!!!

We went for easter sunday lunch. My mother, 2 year old and 7 year old daughters and my wife.
The staff could not be more helpful. Good easy access for my mum who is nearly blind.
The food was sublime. Good english fare cooked to perfection. Very accomadating to a fussy 7 year old who likes her pasta and sauce seperate.

The presentation of the food was amazing. Even the kids food had the same high standard as the adults. Portion size was good for both kids and adults alike.

I would heartly recormmend this pub and we will go back again and again

We could not recormmend this pub enough. I would go as far to say i have worst service in 5* hotels

Thank you for a brilliant family lunch. We booked for New Years Eve lunch and were made very welcome. We were so well look after, the kids were given toys to pay with, free sweets and the older boys received Legend pint glasses to take home after enjoying the real ale so much! The food was great, particularly the generous sharing platters we had to start - would definitely recommend to others. Thanks again for giving us a great start to our new year celebrations.

We visited The Fortescue Arms for a family celebration. We were warmly welcomed with special touches for the birthday boy. Our order was not straight forward with allergies and preferences to be taken into account but nothing was too much trouble for the attentive and friendly staff. Despite a slightly longer than normal wait for the food, the portions were generous and incredibly mouth-watering to look at. Most of us had the tender and tasty roast beef (with all the trimmings!) whilst the kids ordered from the fail-safe children's menu (they loved the fun presentation). The beef tasted even better than it looked and the roast potatoes were outstanding. Dessert was a dilemma, it was difficult to choose from all the old favourites. I had the pleasure of tasting the bread and butter pudding and the white chocolate cheesecake. I was tempted to order a goody bag to go home!

Friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. Great to see cards being played, people chatting as well as delicious food being enjoyed.
Had the sole which came with 4 vegetables and lovely tasty sliced potatoes all under £12. Well worth the wait. Sticky spare ribs next time I think!
