Not wanting to break the form of the reviews of Flear Farm, we stayed here for a week and had a great time. With small children you want a spot which is safe and secure as well as entertaining and FF ticks those boxes and more. As well as that it’s a brilliantly convenient place to base yourself for the lovely part of Devon which it’s nestled in. As ever beaches, and the ‘twee’ towns of Dartmouth, Salcombe are only ever a few miles away. For small persons the farm has in and outdoor play areas, as well as a pool and also some lovely spots such as the pond, stream and bridges which makes for a truly relaxing environment. We stayed in the ‘Managers’ which, was airy and spacious and well equipped, without sounding a bit pretentious, it’s nice to stay in a cottage which is well equipped and sized (like home from home). Well done to the family and team for making you feel welcome and homely. We enjoyed it so much we booked again...! For those visiting town folk who cast dispersions on the country lanes, just chill out, the locals and farmers are probably used to it, just try and get over it!

What a place. I still class myself as a new parent. We have a one year old (turned one during our stay) and finding somewhere which is absolutely perfect for a baby /child is daunting when your not used to holidays with a youngster. When looking for a place, online it seemed perfect but I didn’t expect the level of perfection we found. Absolutely spotless and amazing facilities. Our daughter loved it as did our 10 year old twin nieces, 2 year old niece and 4 month old nephew.
We travelled with 7 adults, 4 children, 2 dogs and stayed in Ducks Quarry (2 cottages combined) the sofas were soooo comfy as were the beds. Such cozy clean cottages. Barney and Camilla as with the rest of the staff so friendly and helpful and even warmed our babies dinner for us after we checked out and before we set off on our way home.
The animals on site are just great for kids to look at and the whole approach, from the honesty shop, to the pool, the the tennis courts and general estate was so relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable.
We’re travelling back as I type and I miss our cottage already. Would love to return and can’t recommended this place highly enough. Jut AMAZING. This is only the first weeks holiday in the uk we’ve had with our “new” daughter and was a complete joy. Thank you all from Lou, Chris, Wren and Flo x

We stayed at Flear Farm for the first time in July - 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 3 years old) in The Stalls. What an amazing place - really well equipped house which was incredibly comfortable. The beds were great, the living area comfy and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting out the front in the evening drinking a glass of wine and listening to the resident peacock calling. The pool was the jewel in the crown, heated to a “just right” temperature and the kids wanted to be in it every minute of the day. I enjoyed the hot tub too :) The kids also loved the brilliant play barn which was so well equipped we would consider coming here out of season too when the weather is less favourable. They loved having other kids to play with which is one of the great benefits of Flear Farm which has several properties and is so geared up to children.

We enjoyed wandering around the property which I’m sure we didn’t see all of as we were also busy exploring the fantastic local beaches and crabbing at Dartmouth and Stoke Gabriel. So much to do nearby.

We will definitely be back to Flear Farm!

Absolutely lovely place. Completely geared for children. Really big pool. Play barn well equipped. Perhaps a few more soft mats for the todlers. Not a moan just an idea. Cannot recommend this farm enough. Large outdoor play area. Also go for a walk through woods and find stream and play poo sticks. Enjoy we certainly did

My family and I stayed in The Dairy cottage at Flear farm for 5 nights in June. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are thinking of returning next year.
The cottage was perfect for two adults and our 2.5 year old son. He slept comfortably in the cot provided.
The kitchen and living area were great, with the kitchen having all the utensils you need for cooking. There is also a vacuum cleaner, mop, dishwasher and cleaning spray to use. The bathroom was very clean and there were enough towels for our stay. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. Although it did get quite hot in the room at night. However, Barney is going to look into purchasing a fan.
It was a lovely surprise to arrive to some freshly made scones and Tiptree jam upon arrival. It was slightly confusing whether we needed to check in anywhere or whether we could just go into the cottage, as the key was in the door. There was nobody around when we arrived. However, a few minutes later, Bridget turned up to welcome us. She was very friendly and helpful. We met the owners a day before we were due to leave and we found Barney and Camilla very nice and welcoming.
The pool is the perfect size and you can even book swimming lessons for your little ones. It was great knowing that after a busy day sightseeing, we could have a relaxing dip in the pool any time we liked. It is always open. You can book treatments in the treatment room next to the pool. There is also a hot tub outside which you can enjoy into the evening.
The play barn is excellent and filled with an array of toys for younger children. Older children can enjoy the trampoline, pool table and slide etc. The outside play area is also really good. There is an honesty shop on the farm, which sells jam, juice, swim nappies to name but a few.
The farm is only a short drive away from some beautiful beaches. We visited Hope Cove, Bantham beach and Salcombe. The roads are very narrow and you do have to reverse quite a bit. However, once you get onto the main roads, it's not so bad. We also went to Woodlands park which is great for young children. I would highly recommend visiting Lydford gorge, which is a lovely waterfall trail.
You don't get a phone signal at the cottage but we didn't have any issues with this, as we used the wifi to communicate with the outside world.
My son was delighted with the animals on the farm. The Alpaca were just opposite our cottage and the two ponies were very friendly. The peacock is a character, showing off to the hens and climbing onto the pool veranda.
The farm just has everything you need for a break with children. It was such a gem of a find!
Flear farm is a very relaxing with beautiful surroundings. It was perfect for our stay in Devon and it has to be the best place we have been to in the UK. I would thoroughly recommend these cottages and look forward to staying again soon. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday. Sarah, Lee and Thomas xxx

Hi Sarah, Lee and Thomas, it was a pleasure to have your family with us, and we'd love to see you again whenever you can get away. We put a huge amount into the estate and facilities here - our aim is to give families the kind of holiday we would want with our children, so thank you for you warm words. Barney, Camilla and Bridget x
