“Great meal for a good price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2013

Da Guido is a very good restaurant. The traditional Italian food with Guido's twist really is something special. The staff is friendly and gives good advice to let you truely enjoy Italian cuisine. Trust them, try something new based on their advice and be amazed!

“The best in town (and surroundings)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2013

If you're traveling around the south-Tuscany area, this place is surely worth a dinner stop.

The traditional local "Maremma" cuisine is very well interpreted here. Dish choice (and size!) will make you leave the restaurant feeling you haven't wasted your money.

“Great meal at a very reasonable price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2013

Believe it or not I found this gem by asking the lifeguards at the beach in Capalbio. Since in the Capalbio area, things are pricey and over crowded - we thought the best source would be a local source - and we were right. This restaurant is excellent - anti pasta, pasta that is out of this world! I ordered a filetto and it was bigger and better than I ever imagined it could. The town is a walled city and you can work off a bit of the meal by walking on top of the walls.

“Da guido for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2013 via mobile

En route for the coast from Roccalbegna there is a wonderfully small walled town called Magliano in Toscana. Within the walls is one of the most authentic restaurants in Tuscany. The food in the restaurant is magnificent and the service is excellent. The Antipasto is remarkable with about 12 differing dishes to choose from which are to share. Given the wide range it is easily possible to share this course with a vegetarian as my wife happens to be. Especially exciting is the pecorino cheese served with a sauce of chocolate and truffle. After this try out the truffle or fresh Porchini pasta followed by one of the main courses. The fillet steak that I had today was tremendous. Washed down with a half litre of the local Scansano red it was a terrific lunch spanning two glorious hours. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the coast but satisfied myself with the views of the med coast and the Island of Giglio whilst also partaking of a delicious ice cream at the equally terrific Geletaria / bar just off the small Piazza. If you are in the area I highly recommend the restaurant and also the Gelateria. A brilliant lunch and afternoon.
