I was so happy to have been invited to lunch here that I returned asap for more! If you are looking for excellent food cooked by an eccentric and enthusiastic chef/owner in a great location, then you must go to Lo Studio in Pietrasanta. Giandomenico makes the most wonderful pasta. His own special recipe, including pink and green (pink from beetroot juice and I can't remember what makes the green!). We had the ordinary colour pasta with his mixed fish sauce and it was a true masterpiece. We also had a local fish 'luccio' which translates as 'pike' and it was delicious. Cooked 'al isolana' in the oven with potatoes and onions. Marinated anchovies with raisins were good. The location was originally a marble studio/workshop, so a huge loft like space with high ceiling, with a bar at one end and a small stage area at the other with piano. Jazz and other music evenings are in the pipeline. Hurray - as the space and atmosphere is perfect for live music. The terrace is delightful, relaxing and there is a large area with tables at the back surrounded by giant bamboos. Not your run of the mill restaurant at all. If you enjoy originality and good food, then you have to visit. Giandomenico makes you feel immediately at home.
