“Second time in this hotel and i loved it.....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2013

This was my second time in this hotel (2013. 05) and its getting better and better in all the areas. I was with my family - wife and 2 years old daughter and friends, they loved this hotel too. This time comparing with the first stay (2012.08), they made some good changes - they changed the old mattresses to the new ones, they very comfortable, the food is more various and very delicious - every day they give something different, at the bar they have very tasty cocktails..... I loved this stay and had a very good time with the owners off this hotel Christos and Vickie, they very friendly, cheerful and so on, they even gave us a child toilet for my daughter. For me, my family and friends in this hotel everything was very good - the food, rooms, pool, all inclusive, surroundings.

If we would like to go to the Kos island again, we certainly will chose Summer Village again.

Darius

We arrived by taxi and met by Christos at reception who showed us to our room.
In keeping with typical Greek it was very basic but very clean and bed linen and towels changed frequently.
The food is very very basic .. Cereal ham cheese bread yoghurt honey for breakfast
The lunch and dinners were always very basic and Greek which I did like and nice to see the owners eating the same as us think that goes a long way.
I belueve The owners have taken this hotel on after it had been run down a bit and are trying to build it back up it is cheap and basic but for the price we paid it was cheaper than self catering .. So any food and drink is a bargain.
The all inc drinks were only beer wine and ouzo but we kept ourselves amused on it!!
We were here the last two weeks of the season and it was almost deserted . There were about 8 of us left the last few days so felt like we had our own private pool most of the time
It is in a very quiet part of marmari which in itself is a small resort and so nothing to do
We walked into tingaki the next resort to watch English football .
Big salt lake nearby which means lots of mozzis .. And lots of bites ..Ooooooch!!!
We hired a scooter from over the road for many days and just travelled about taking in the views and fresh air.
It's not a big island and many people hire bicycles and buggys to get about .
Kos is a lovely island but we found 2 weeks at this hotel at end of season was just a bit too quiet for us.

If you want tea or coffee at 10a.m. then expect to pay for it!
Breakfast is continental style don't expect a fry up, bread, cake and Greek yoghurt is all you will get.
Lunch and dinner is a selection of fish, meat, pasta or rice, soup, potatoes and some over cooked vegetables, don't expect to be able to find something for children to eat unless they will eat anything.
The rooms are cleaned daily by staff who seem to work long hours seven days a week, towels were changed every few days along with the sheets on the beds. The shower head hangs on the wall about knee height and the shower curtain don't reach the floor so water goes all over the floor causing you to slip when walking from the bathroom to the bedroom.
The bar area is kept tidy although the music gets very repetitive and you might even find your being served by one of the children whose parents run the hotel
If you are looking for a family holiday I would recommend kos but definitely not this hotel
Our holiday was let down by the food served as all inclusive and we hadn't budgeted to eat out so often we thought we had already paid for our meals when the holiday was booked!

This family run hotel is certainly just that. Although we found the rooms and the hotel in general quite comfortable and had no complaints. The food although very well prepared was very repetative. Same thing day in and day out. The all inclusive bar served only beer, ouzo and wine. If you wanted anything else it had to be paid for. The (friendly) manager was only friendly if you were under a certain age and female. The domestic staff are lovely and worked very hard to keep the rooms clean. I would certainly go back to kos but NOT the Summer village

When we first arrived we were a bit disappointed with the room. But after speaking to viki the owner we were moved. The rooms are basic and the standard of cleanliness could be better. We had clean towels most days and the sheets were changed maybe 3 times week.
As everyone has said, breakfast is quite basic and after a few days it is boring. For lunch and tea you usually have a meat and fish choice and then veg and pasta, potatoes or rice.
The location. Well if you want very quiet then this is the place for you. We would have preferred to stay nearer to kos town I think.
Drinks are limited to beer, wine and ouzo but we knew this before we went.
Generally viki and christos were welcoming, helpful and friendly.
However, would we stay here again? No probably not.

dont go all inclusive because the drinks and food are very limited and basic,
beds got changed once,
noisy till late,
bar shut at 10:30pm

mainly the owner joined in with young women laughing and taking pictures at one the guest over his hair style, as he was old.

Absolute disgrace, dont go, everyone wanted to go within the first week...

Room Tip: none their all bad

The owners and staff were great, everything clean and tidy. Lunch and dinner were mostly good, but it gets boring having bread, cheese, ham and cereal every single morning! Also, beer, wine or ouzo gets boring after awhile and you will want to buy other drinks.
Also, the hotel is situated by a salt lake and was mosquito heaven! I usually get bitten if there are any anywhere, but my partner who usually isn't was bitten as much as I was. Made it difficult to sleep. The shower was the smallest I've ever seen.
I will say though that you get what you pay for, if you want more than pay for a hotel with more stars. Lovely area, hire a car or bike and see the island, Kos is lovely with great beaches and great friendly people.
I would still recommend as a cheap all inclusive, just don't expect luxury. If you book a holiday in Greece, go up a star more than you would usually do if that is what you want.

Room Tip: The rooms further back are quieter, but nearer to the salt lake which brings in the mosquitoes.
