Firstly we want to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the Sitwell for looking after us! Nothing was too much trouble for them even last minute changes to seating plans due to family illness!
We got married here between Christmas and New Year 2013 and enjoyed every minute of it! I stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding with my family and we were treated like star guests from when we arrived...this made the experience even more magical. The meal we had in the restaurant was great and we will defiantly be returning.
The next morning my six bridesmaids arrived early and we had our hair and makeup done in the hotels salon! Again the staff were amazing! We didn't stop laughing all morning which was great to clam the nerves.
Everything was set up just as I wanted and looked so beautiful! The service was lovely (even though that is a bit of a blur to me) then we went outside to the lake to have photographs on the most beautiful sunny day I could of asked for in December!!
The meal we had was traditional and everyone said how good the food was, the potion sizes especially, we had loads of Turkey and the dessert was huge!!
When we had the speeches, it showed how much the staff were involved because our fantastic wedding coordinator even shed a little tear.
Then the rest of the night was the same as the day.. Perfect!!
Only thing I would say is I wish we could do it every year!! Our family's have already been talking about a reunion to be held at the Sitwell every year!
So anyone who is looking for a wedding venue I would highly recommend the Sitwell Arms Hotel!
Thank you to everyone involved xxx

My daughter recently became engaged and we were looking at a wedding venue with her. I read the reviews and thought we would take a look, we went to the bar area at the front of the hotel, a very warm welcome from the lady at the bar, and we ordered drinks, 2 beers and 2 small house wines £16.80, high prices for the area. The seating area is very cosy, but was looking dated, and could do with redecorating. We ordered from the lunchtime menu, 55 year old plus deal was good £7.95 each for a 2 course, within 20 minutes the starter arrived, then main course, service was very good. We had beef and ale pie, which we both enjoyed, and our daughter had cheese burger £10 for two, good value. We decided not to venture into the wedding function area or hotel, as we thought the bar area needed some TLC.

Stopped for one night when travelling to visit various family members who live in the midlands. Comfy bedroom and good breakfast although in the past I've been able to enjoy smoked salmon.
We hadn't realised that a voucher we'd been given had a use buy date, take out of the gift card and read the reverse....after some up set the hotel did honour this which was much appreciated and we will return.
On this occasion we enjoyed a meal in the Boar Restaurant.

My brother and I attended my grand-daughter's wedding reception at this hotel in August. I made a telephone booking for a twin room with breakfast a few week's before, and was quoted a discounted rate of £40.00. I later rang to book a single for a friend who was attending, I was quoted £30.00. However, on checking out we were given a bill for £63.00 per night. On politely querying and explaining the situation, we were asked, very abruptly, "and do you have that in writing?" I pointed out that I had not felt it necessary, since I would not expect any hotel to quote one price and then charge a higher at check out. I was informed that my credit card, details of which were taken on arrival, would be debited with the bill amount. I felt this was tantamount to blackmail, since there was little I could do about it. My friend had actually not used her room but driven home, she paid in cash the night before, I pointed out that her room was booked at £30.00, and enquired as to whether or not this was the amount charged. I was told it was, but later on speaking to her, she told me she had had to pay £38.00. The woman at reception was rude and abrupt, and so I asked to speak to someone more senior. She informed me she was the owner. I pointed out that I was not lying and asked if we could reach a compromise, she refused, indicating that I was lying. I had no choice but to pay the account, and even when my credit card company attempted to resolve the matter, she would not compromise. I later wrote an official complaint to the hotel, but beware, there is no where to complain. The same person I was complaining about, actually dealt with the complaint. We had actually enjoyed our stay at the hotel, however it was marred by our experience at check out. In particular the attitude of the owner, who appeared to have no public relations knowledge at all. I have since established that the room rate I was eventually charged was in fact what the other guests had paid, and I am prepared to accept that an error was made. However, I do know that it was not on my part, I do not need to go to such lengths over £23.00. I am disappointed by the fact that what had been a memorable occasion for us, was marred by the poor public relations displayed by the proprietor of this hotel, and I find it extremely bizarre that a hotel can get away with the bullying tactics used in this instance. It is also quite bizarre to find a company to whom it is impossible to complain should anything go wrong,
