Room 1215 was facing a large lake with balcony. Room was huge and very quiet (except for the fireworks at 7am), wifi worked fine. It was extremely interesting that there was a selection of condoms, disposable underwear and something called ‘happy towel’ in the bathroom for sale. Also, the extra toiletries (comb, shaving kit, toothbrush) had a sign that they were extra and you had to pay for them. The regular soap and shampoo I’m assuming were free. Good amount of water pressure. Room sign indicated non-smoking, but there was a heavy smell of smoke in the room and the pillows, a bit annoying. Excellent buffet breakfast, much more Asian, but some Western dishes like baked beans. One English TV station – CCTV, other 53 channels were Chinese. Room had extra electric adapter in the desk drawer. I was surprised to see a gas mask in the closet, but was told it was common in 4 and 5 star Chinese hotels and to have in case of fire.

Room Tip: get a room overlooking the lake

First must avoid simple rooms used for local tourism located on the 8th Floor.
Other than that, the rooms & bathtubs are ok. If you like sweet and comfortable bed, better to sleep on the floor, there is no mattress and it's similar as a wood sheet.
Breakfast is ok for Chinese only, absolutely not adapted to foreign travelers. (you can put you toast 10 times into the toaster it remains white...) 5 stars involves the respect of certain quality standard around the world...

Room Tip: Always ask superior room but the bed will be everywhere similar.

Its main attraction is its proximity to Liuye Lake which it overlooks. Obviously a resort hotel, it does not disappoint.

The hotel has a luxurious feel throughout the property with thick carpets in the rooms and outside.

But the carpet in our room was stained and not as well maintained as expected for a 5-star hotel.

However in the lobby, every morning, two women and one man would give a Tai Chi demonstration to the music from a erhu played by a woman. And in the evening, a pianist tinkled on the ivory boards.

Our bedroom was spacious and very comfortable, but has no wifi - only a free internet socket. Free wifi is available in the lobby. A flat panel tv , a room safe. iron and iron board and daily two bottles of drinking water are also provided.

The bathroom comes with thick and soft towels, a modern shower, and modern amenities - disposable bedroom slippers, toiletries like body cream, conditioning shampoo, bath foam, toothbrush and paste, shower cap, cotton wool and buds, detergent, and combs, hairdryer, coffee/tea making facilities.

Service is generally friendly, but few staff speak English.

Western and local breakfasts are part of the room deal, and adequate.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake.

This is a 4/5star property. The place is quite lovely and our suite was really well decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff was great, even though this is a busy hotel at the foot of Hengshan. Our suite had 2 floors!? This is one of the nicest tourist hotels I've stayed in in an out of the way location in China. And, there is a large swimming pool. The Internet is slow, but present. Highly recommend.

This hotel has some nice rooms and I liked the food and the pool. Check-out was a nightmare. First, the hotel kept on insisting that I bought cigarettes from the minibar - I have never smoked in my life. Second, the checkout process was close to 30 minutes because of the factt the staff could not use the credit card machines properly - and I still have no idea what will happen as they seemed to be doing a lot of swiping. In general, while hard to pinpoint, I had a very bad feeling about this place - don't stay there.

This hotel is advertised as a 5 star. That is a little misleading. The staff are excellent even though we only met one person with passible english. They were great about helping us. The hotel is a little run down. Up keep is not a top priority. A good carpet cleaner would go a long way. The breakfast was excellent but I would steer anyone away from ordering off the menu for other meals unless you know what you're getting. The optional facilities were ok as well. Pool was nice but also in need of maintenance. Gym was very nice. Didn't look like it was ever used. So, overall nice with excellent service but the building and grounds could definitely use a makeover. Oh yeah, the taxis out front are reliable but they cost about double a regular one. A short walk out the drive and you cann usually find a regular one with out too much wait.

Room Tip: The garden view is ok but you can see the disrepair the grounds have fallen into. The recycling cen...

This is a very comfortable hotel, where we spent a night. My only complaint is that it is quite a walk to anywhere else except the Willow Lake. The bed and pillows are clean, soft and very comfortable. Although the buffet is fairly standard Chinese fare, quality-wise it is higher and better than most other Chinese hotels.

Room Tip: Rooms that overlook the hotel front, towards the Willow Lake
