We stayed in Huaihua because our train got in at 1am. This hotel's very close to the station so, for us, the location was good. We didn't have a room booked but they had one available. You'll definitely stay in more picturesque locations in China, for ¥149, but it does the trick when you arrive late and need a bed for the night. It has the feel of a midrange hotel about 10 years past it's hayday. Our room was pleasant enough, if a little shabby. There was a TV and computer, in the room, although the Internet didn't work particularly well and there didn't seem to be any wi-fi. The bed was comfortable and the staff were pleasant, although our only contact with them was checking in and out.
