Quality services matched with good food, ambience and location advantage make this property a worthwhile stay. Thanks to Cleartrip, I got an excellent package deal. I enjoyed the pool, sauna, health club and the breakfast buffet spread was extravagant.

Hotel is located diagonally across the newly opened Wanda Mall. You can find a departmental store, supermarket, branded good stores and plenty of restaurants (3rd floor) in the Mall.

The hotel room decorations are fairly dated and could use some sprucing up. The room that I stayed had wallpaper that were peeling. I didn't have any issues with cockroaches that some reviewers pointed out. The room was equipped with a desktop PC and broadband internet connection.

There was only 1 floor of non-smoking hotel rooms. All other floors were smoking rooms.

Breakfast was mostly Chinese style, with a very limited western selection.

As in the past my stay at the hotel was great in terms of location. More food options would be ideal given that my timings are erratic. Though there are 4 restaurants only one is opened 24*7.
Otherwise good customer service and clean.

I've chosen this hotel due to the Best Western brand but was rather disappointed with my choice. I've stayed on a hot spring floor, thus my room was equipped with bathtub and, who knows, but maybe natural hot spring water was provided as well. It's difficult to find out whether the water is really hot spring or not. Bathtub is an advantage, for sure. As for room, everything would be great but the cockroaches ruined everything. I've smashed 3 of them before going to sleep. It doesn't feel that wonderful enjoying bathtub when you know that there are severe problems with hygiene in the hotel rooms. Welcome fruit were good - some cherry tomatoes and pomelo have risen up my spirits a little bit. And the breakfast in the morning was very good. A great choice of different food both Western (even cheese!) and Chinese. Average rating only because of cockroaches - once management will pay enough attention to it, my rating would be change to 'Very Good', at least.
P.S. Wanda Plaza is being built just in front of the hotel - I suppose once it's finished the location would be much more advantageous!

Initially the hotel did not seem too bad and I was given a spacious room above the carpark and main hotel entrance.
Unfortunately the restaurant could not supply much in the way of western food which was not the best start, then I noticed the noise levels in the room from passing traffic was quite considerable as was the traffic of cockroaches across my bed and carpets...
I decided to eat out and in the elevator on the way down was propositioned by one young lady. On returning from my meal I was propositioned again, firstly in the elevator and the again in the corridor leading to my room.

Room Tip: Anywhere not facing onto the roads

Putian is a growth city and so quality accommodation is limited.
I hate to do negative reviews in other countries especially if they are the result of cultural differences (yes china has hard beds and yes people smoke in all rooms, just get over it) I am far from winging tourist and it’s not as if I pretend to be a hotel expert, however the list of deficiencies in this situation got very long.
I came in late to my room which was on the 20th floor. I paid extra to try and ensure a lower use room but this did not work out quite as planned. The room felt and smelled like someone left only minutes earlier. The first thing that I noticed was that the bar fridge was turned off, so the well presented beer and soft drink inside it stayed there warm as toast. No refrigeration within Chinese business hotel rooms is common. However in those situations there is no fridge to temp you just dry food snacks. My room was overly well supplied with sex related products. Upon opening what I thought maybe a draw containing liquor bottles, which was empty, I touched some “lubrication” left on the underside of the handle. As I entered the en suite the smell of sewage coming up through the drainage pipes in the shower and the main bathroom floor was quite strong. It was now about 11.30pm and I made the decision I needed to make do until morning. The room was generally (for the most part) clean apart from the smell I blocked with a trusty towel after closing the door. Surfaces were then diligently wiped with the travellers companion the trusty antiseptic wipe.
The LCD TV, I found out in the morning, was stuck on “game mode” so I never got it past a blue screen. I decided to sleep, turned out the lights and found the room was still lit up. Upon examination the wardrobe doors were sitting on the ground leaning up against the frame. The wardrobe fluorescent light was constantly on as the doors needed to be on the runners and closed for it to switch off. The 15 minute battle to make this happen was deserted in favour of the removal of the globe. Traffic noise was high even on the 20th floor throughout the night.
The next morning I showered and after soap and shampoo was forced down the plug hole the repugnant smell had dropped enough to let me complete the days preparations without making my eyes water.
I had to laugh, on the bathroom wall, about head height; I could still see the pencil equations the builder had made in laying up the tiles over 12 months earlier. I should have taken an additional photo.
Breakfast downstairs was very good. At all levels the Staff were professional polite friendly and helpful. Whilst I concede I have stayed in worst hotels this one had some unique benchmarks
