I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, with it perfect overview I had a good holiday experience. Only a few steps from the city park and square. Check in is simple, and the front office satff can speak perfect English. The sanitary conditions for room is good. So I think if next time I have to saty in Qujuing, I will choose Guanfang Hotel again.Thank you.

This hotel is NICE. If you're weary about visiting China then you should definitely stay at the GuanFang. It is extremely clean and feels very much like any nice hotel in the States or some decent hotels in Hong Kong. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and they really treated us right. I do have friends in the hotel business here in Qujing so I don't know if this is common treatment for anniversaries, but we had our room completely decked out - it was very nice. There were hearts made of rose petals on the table and even rose petals in the tub and toilet! (Oh yeah, there's a western style toilet, not a squatty). The view of the city (the south gate) is marvelous. The food is great for hotel food. The lobby is very clean and nice (most hotel lobbies are extravagant and clean in China).

it is a bit expensive, but you are paying for comfort. The rooms are huge and they even have international channels.

Like I've said in my other reviews, there's no hotel that will beat the location of the JinLin Hotel, but this one wins with comfort and style hands down.

I stayed at this hotel for one night in January. It is a well situated property, just a few steps from the picturesque town square. Check in was quite simple, and after dinner I went to my room briefly to drop off my bags before walking around the town. The room was generously sized, and quite attractively decorated, and looked quite new. The only giveaway that you were in a Chinese hotel and not an international chain was the strange vase filled to the brim with slightly bubbly, stale looking water, the helpful lucite holder near the bedside offering a condom for RMB 10 for convenience's sake, and ever so faint whiff of sewage in the bathroom area that hinted of some corners being cut during construction. (come to think of it, the 'Fuquan sauna' that is open 24 hours at the hotel was also a departure from international standard) It was a very attractive room though, and combined with the soaring ceiling in the brand spanking new lobby, one would have to call the hotel 5 stars in China.

What let it down for me though was the service. My wife called my mobile while I was out, so I texted her my hotel number and room number. She called my mobile, quite irate, 5 minutes later, telling me that the staff first connected her to the wrong room, despite clearly giving my room number (granted in english, but my wife said later she was speaking slowly), and then being told by an officious staff that I was 'busy' and did not want to be disturbed (getting a massage?). An assistant manager later called to apologize, but that would hardly have reassured me if I'd gone home the next day and found the locks changed to my house!

Also, I had been told by one of my work traveling companions that he had used the small gym the previous night, so at 630 am I went downstairs to use the gym as well. I found at the front desk two staff with the lights out, and their heads buried in their folded arms. I roused one of them up timidly and asked them the way to the gym. He pointed to the other side of the long lobby. I got there, and found a door for the swimming pool and gym, but it was locked. Sightly annoyed, I went back to the front desk and asked them to open it. The staff then claimed that the pool had been drained because of drought in Yunnan, and that also they had moved all the exercise machines away (all in Chinese, which I speak). They were lying through their teeth, since my colleague had just used the gym the night before. I found these idiosyncracies inexcusable in a property purporting to be 5 stars, and would want to see such fundamental flaws in staff training ironed out before I could give the property anything better than a 3 star rating.

This is a surprising find if you happen to be in Qujing as the Hotel is a 5 stars property, but even though it does not belong to any International Group the Hotel is your best choice if you have to be in Qujing City.

The room is big and have it is very comfortable. They provide 4 bottles of free water and a lot of tea. You also have many TV international channels, not like other hotels in China where you have to endure only Chinese channels.

Breakfast is mostly Chinese food, but you still can get a very good omelet and a fresh brewed coffee.

If you need to stay in Qujing this may be your best choice by far.
