Good cold beer after a strenuous hike. Good food and lot's of it. Good setting and perfect summertime weather. Well worth the stop while you're here

This place is in a nice setting with a patio over the creek. We had lunch there and shared a Navajo taco with 2 brewskis. Our waiter was a bit overwhelmed with the number of people and pretty much forgot everything. We had to tell him stuff 2 or 3 times, so service was very slow. The only saving grace were the couple seated at the next table. We struck up a conversation with them and talked for a long time, so the poor service didn't seem so bad. The waiter was nice though and I did feel a bit sorry for him, so gave him a good tip anyway. He may want to try another line of business which doesn't require remembering anything!

We sat on the patio overlooking the Rio Hondo with our dog. The lady running the place was real friendly and didn't seem to mind coming outside to wait on us. She brought fresh water for the pooch. They have a good beer selection and a good food menu if you like Mexican food. We enjoyed it and will return.

Planned a hike to Williams Lake and planned to eat in Taos Ski Valley before heading out. Arrived at 10AM... in May... and NOTHING was open. Wandered around the entire ghost town of Taos Ski Valley and finally found the only person there - she told us all about the recent renovations to the ski area, fishing stream, etc. and then directed us to Tim's, which opened at noon. Had the huevos rancheros and chili rellenos. And a few beers. All good. The servers were very chatty and nice. Had a great "locals" vibe. BTW - the hike to Williams Lake was covered in snow and when we finally got there, the lake (more a large pond than a lake) was frozen solid. Not at all what we had planned, but a great adventure nonetheless.

OK, the prices are good and the food is inconsistent, sometimes great, but some misses, too. Best for Apres Ski, but okay for dinner if you do not have great expectations. Small kitchen for the number of tables so you will need to be patient. They make it from scratch, not premade plates(good!). Good service for the overwhelmed staff. Great vib, lively.
