WBH was recommended to us by friends, and we have thanked them for the tip-off! WBH is reminiscent of the old-style traveler's inns back in the Old Country. A fantastic restaurant, a well-stocked bar with STRONG drinks, and some basic rooms for you to crash in after a long day on the beach (or after the long drive from Tokyo)! The rooms were clean, but spartan. The bathrooms were smaller than those you would find in a business hotel. But keeping a realistic view of things, we weren't paying for the room. We were paying for the location. It's literally a 30-second walk from the front of the hotel to the beach. The restaurant was the main draw to the hotel, and there were even guests from another hotel who came to WBH for breakfast and dinner! There was no real difference between the restaurant waitstaff and the hotel staff. We were checked in by our first waitress! Speaking of which, the entire staff was extremely friendly and extremely helpful! The only downside was that the waitstaff were clearly inexperienced and needed to focus a bit more on paying attention to the "after-sales service". I saw one couple wait nearly 20 minutes for their bill. That said, the waitstaff weren't professionals, but were students on summer break, trying to make a little bit of coin. I'd like to give a special tip of the hat to Julie, who was extremely friendly, courteous, attentive, and willing to answer all sorts of questions. The only recommendation I would offer to WBH is that for the price being charged for the spartan rooms, breakfast should be included. Other than that, we had a wonderful visit and would gladly go back. Thanks for a great weekend, WBH!
