Agree with his review; cannot add to it. Hosts hospitable, welcoming, considerate; walking challenging with wonderful landscapes; accommodation comfortable, village centre; food high standard. Recommended without reservation.

This was the 4th time I have been to Casa Carrascal and this was the best holiday ever. Great food and stunning 3boot walking. David, Sue and the dogs looked after us brilliantly and the group of people on the holiday bonded and were great company. I need to go back in the Spring to see the flowers!

This was our second holiday at Casa Carascal. This time we did the 2/3 Boot holiday which works extremely well, as if you are not sure whether you would want to do a strenuous 3 Boot walk every day, there is always an option to do a slightly easier one. It is difficult to think how this holiday could be better; Sue and David are wonderful hosts, look after you from the moment you arrive at the airport, produce endless good food, take you on spectacular walks which you could never find on your own, and seem to have inexhaustible energy and goodwill. The 3 boot walks are certainly tough and challenging, but eminently 'doable' if you are fairly fit, and the rewards of the views you get from the top of a long and tiring climb make it all worth while. If you like good walking, good food, and good company, this is as good as you can get.

I've just returned from a fabulous week at Casa Carrascal. David & Sue are perfect hosts, catering for their guests' every need from delicious, nutritious meals to inspirational walks with stunning views; nothing is too much trouble.

The walks are carefully thought through to suit their guests, with daily options to do more or less, depending on one's mood and energy level, yet without any compromise to the stunning sights and satisfaction felt at the end of each day's hike.

In the middle of the week, we spent a day at Calpe, a delightful town on the coast, swimming & sunning ourselves on the beach, shopping & relaxing, the perfect antidote to the mountains.

This is a great holiday for anyone who loves untamed countryside, and getting up close and personal with the local flora and fauna.

Room Tip: Each room has its own unique character with none being the poor relation.

My wife and I were part of a small group who enjoyed excellent walking, fine food and wonderful hospitality from our hosts, Sue and David, who looked after us completely from the moment we were met at Alicante airport. It was a bit warmer than expected but dry and fine all week. The bonus of the smaller group was that we had more time to practice and pick up tips from David who is an enthusiastic amateur photographer. He showed us better ways to take photos with compact cameras and various new ways on how to manipulate and store them on an iPad and a Laptop using some new downloaded programs. There was no shortage of subjects from fine vistas to small flowers and insects!
The suite we occupied was very comfortable indeed and although the house is in the centre of the village it is still extremely quiet and peaceful. Our day out in Valencia was a revelation too. It was all too short and left us wanting to return to this wonderful city. We will certainly consider returning in Spring to see the flowers and especially the orchids which are plentiful and various in this area.

This is what hosts David and Sue put in to what they do and you can't really put a price on that. Just returned from a week with them and my first trip of this sort (Mrs Oldbutkeen has done quite a few). The problem now is going to be follow that! One obvious answer is to go back again and do some more of the 100+ walks they know in the Marina Alta. It would be difficult to imagine getting tired of the wonderful karst landscape which has the feeling of being on another planet in places. Every corner and ridge throws up a new angle, a new view. David and Sue lead the walks as if it's the first time they've taken someone on them and whilst they are extremely safety conscious, they are sufficiently challenging so you feel you've really achieved something that you would probably never have attempted on your own. Then there's the added attraction of Ellie and Charlie, their two gorgeous dogs. So well behaved so even non doggy people couldn't fail to enjoy their company. And then the food! After a day on the mountains David comes up with a standard of cuisine that's well above what I expected. It would be worth going for the food alone!

Well I could go on but you probably get the picture. Pretty much as faultless as one can imagine. Just goes to show when people put as much in to something as this, the results are a major net gain in the sum of human happiness. We'll be back.

I have just returned from a walking holiday at Casa Carrascal and have to say it lived up to and exceeded all my expectations, one of my best holidays ever. Everything about the holiday was superb, fantastic walking with like minded people, food to die for, excellent accommodation, great weather. David and Sue, our multi tasking hosts are a charming couple, very attentive to the needs of individuals and the group and nothing is too much trouble to them to ensure a memorable holiday. Their excellent local knowledge adds an extra dimension to the magnificent scenery which surrounds you on the variety of spectacular walks. It is an experience not to be missed, to be enjoyed more than once.
