We stayed here for the 3rd time, this time with friends. Received a very warm welcome and felt very much at home. Had 2 lovely rooms on the seaview side, which I recommend, as the view is beautiful. They are all different but come in the same modern, comfy style, very spacious with very comfortable beds.
The lounge where you have breakfast is very cosy, tastefully decorated, also with a wonderful view. Breakfast is buffet style with eggs made to order. Do pay the extra few rands to have the café latte!
There is an honesty bar where you take your drinks and just write down what you had. Paul and Marjolein will give you lots of info on places to visit or restaurants, which they will book for you.
Location is perfect for visiting the area, as it is close to Cape Town, Hermanus, the winelands, etc.
Will go again!

Room Tip: Go for the seaview, it's worth it!

The lodge has a beautiful sea view and the rooms are spacious and clean. Its home away from home.
The dining room was tastefully done with a beautiful view of the sea.
They offered to arrange activities for us which was really good.
They need to improve on the type of breakfast they offer as well as having details on hand for dial delivery services for dinners.

We stayed at Colourful Manor mid February 2013 and had the most wonderful stay. The rooms are very modern and very spacious opening out onto a terrace with sweeping views down to Gordon's Bay. If you like sunsets this is the perfect place to see them. Breakfast was buffet style and was excellent with a good choice of fruit, cereals speciality breads and preserves. Eggs cooked any style you like with bacon were always offered too. Any coffee you like was freshly prepared. Marjolein and Paul were perfect hosts as were their lovely dogs Max and Noura.

Marjolein was quick to offer a suggestion for dinner the night we arrived and made a reservation for us at Henri's in Somerset West - excellent food and lovely staff there too.

This whole area has so much to offer with the coast line, the wonderful mountains, the wineries and the many restaurants. A must for any visit is a picnic at one of the wineries, we had a picnic at Vergelegen which was magical with tables set out in a wooded area

The Cape is just beautiful and we found it to be excellent value for money.

Recently stayed at CM for 4 weeks. The lodge is modern and stylish and well appointed. We were so well looked after by Marjolein and Paul, we felt quite at home. The staff are friendly and polite. There are rooms of varying sizes but all are excellent, modern and clean and comfortable.. The lounge is a welcoming place with lovely views down to the bay. - free wifi is available there. There is a well stocked fridge - beers and wines (honesty bar). Breakfast is excellent - the selection of coffees and bread are again superb. Marjolein and Paul were so helpful in advising of trips and make bookings at restaurants - nothing too much trouble. It is an excellent base for touring round the Western Cape. A car is essential. The location is fabulous with great views all around. The N2 road is only 3minutes away (approximately). Gordon's Bay is 7k away. The Cape, Capetown, Stellenbosch and Franchoek are an hour,s drive away on good well signposted roads. the Victoria and Alfred complex in Capetown is well worth visiting as are the colourful houses in Bo Kaap district. There is a cheetah sanctuary a few minutes away off the N2 - only 10 rand to enter - plus additions for contact with the animals.. A drive up Chapman Drive (toll road 33Rand) from Hout Bay is spectacularly wonderful. There is so much to do and see. Vergelegen and Waterskloof wineries are a must. There is a multitude of wineries to visit if you wish. The area must be one of the best places on earth to wine and dine. The degustation at Waterskloof was unbelievable. Prices in the area make you wonder why we pay so much in England.
South Africa, it's problems notwithstanding, is a most beautiful country and CM fits perfectly. I've forgotten to mention the wonderful Sabine and Jody two young Dutch women, who help in the lodge. JenPaul

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook the bay and others have views of the mountains

A great place to stay, beautifull rooms, nice lounge, perfect breakfast and a very good hospitality from all dutch people.
As golfers, winers and diners this was the perfect place to start from. We visited Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Arabella and Frans Hoek frome here.
We were at colourful Manour for 5 days, traveled to George and came back for another 3 days.
Never been to the area? Paul and Marjolein will help you finding all you look for during your hollidays.
